I crashed my TREX 500 on Tuesday of this week because I was doing something stupid, and then I crashed my 450 yesterday because of...well me doing something stupid. I was goofing around with the 500 by hovering and landing on a round Craftsman 12" creeper seat. I would set the left skid only on the seat, followed by the right. Then I would set the heli on the seat and gently walk the skids all around little by little and then I picked it back to a hover to try and land on the seat looking at the heli from the side and then...PHWAAACKKK, the tail blades made contact with the seat.Lots of damage to the heli, and the seat is shredded also.(I don't care 'bout the seat)

I then was attempting to perform a triple pirouette with my 450(in the back yard, close to the trees), and I lost control, putting her in the dirt. Luckily there was only minimal damage but I didn't have the replacement parts in my stash to get her back in the air. So now I sit waiting for parts for both helis.I was going to upload the video of the 500's crash but I can't figure out how to put it in my computer.Just as well, it's painful for me to watch it get it's first crash because I'm an idiot. I just put on a new canopy and set of blades to boot!

It only feels stupid (to oneself) when you/we crash.

As long as you're having fun taking risks...that's the key

Good luck.

put my 450 in chasing dragon flys around a couple days ago. I was watching them fly rather than my 450. that was stupid - first crash on that guy in a couple of years (haven't been flying it too much)

I think you should have gotten some video

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Another thing that sucks...when you are really concentrating on a particular manuever and a mosquito decides to start drilling on your neck. The rc heli hobby would so much more enjoyable w/o those little pesty blood sucking BAST**DS trying to get a free snack off ya!

Patient: Doctor, it hurts every time I do this.

Doctor: Don't do that!

Saturday morning I flew my helicopter in my pajamas
How it got in my pajamas I'll never know

Ugh, now I know the feeling. Yesterday I rebuilt the head on my 450 and replaced the swash plate with what I believe was a CopterX knockoff swash plate...went to the field and 30 seconds into the first flight I hear a *POP!* and all of a sudden the heli's sideways like I'm about to go into a forward hurricane. Couldn't save it, ended up in a bad crash...turns out the swash plate separated mid flight. First crash with it after a decent streak of 50 flights without crashing.

Rebuilt it again today, and put some nice new Radix blades on it. First flight went great, I was doing all of my usual stuff along with inverted hovering practice. Then on the second pack I just plain dumb thumbed it doing a funnel, gave too much collective and it landed nose first. Those brand new $45 Radix blades were done on the second flight. Back to wrenching now...
