My question of the day is, Who believes in ghosts? I am a strong believer. I have proof, I just want to see who believes.

I have an open mind, but I think its unlikely for such an entity to exist in the universe.

I have seen no evidence durin the course of my life to indicate anything exists beyond the grave.

I experienced some strange phenomenon when I was in my late teens/early twenties after the death of a close freind, that at the time convinced me I was experiencing something of a super natural nature, I now believe phsycology likely had a greater role to play in the strange phenomena I was experienceing.

I also recall at a very young age perhaps 5 - 10 years old being visited in the night by a very large figure dressed in in what appeared to be black robes, perhaps 10 ft tall, humanoid in shape but more similar to a grizly bear in size, this entity seemed to have an ability to paralyze my entire body with some kind of strong force that felt like pure terror, and I distinctly remember being prodded in the chest by its large bony finger.

Ive heard many other people have had almost identical experience to that Ive described above, allthough Im inclined to put it down to the over imagination of a 7 yr old child, Im still not totally convinced as the experience of others would appear to be virtually identical to that I experienced, almost down to the fine detail.

More of a mystery than any ghostly apparitions is why someone would start a topic for discussion and then not make one single response to it in over 4 hours, even when it appears there still online

I watched a DVD last night called After life with Liam Neeson that wasent all that bad really, this girl wakes up in a funeral home after a car accident, the premise is that Liam Neeson AKA the funeral director either has a gift and is able to communicate with the dead, or is a phsycopath keeping this girl against her will locked up in the morgue until she ends up getting burried alive, pretty creepy.

Tonight Im going to watch The Crazies, I think its a Zombie type one like night of the liveing dead, I think it may be a good one from what Ive read, something along the lines of 28 Days later.

ghosts no !!, I'm more apt to believe people are seeing Aliens,, I just don't get that people are (simplly) willing to believe in a God yet they wont believe in a living biological Being that is more advanced that us

Spitfire, this is the classic description of night terrors/sleep paralysis.

search for those terms online and you will be amazed. Very common phenomenon (and medically different from a nightmare), and in some cultures you could be a shaman!

Yeah its pretty freaky, when the penny dropped for me was when I heard some dude I used to work with start describeing this "boogy man" phenomena.

Trust me, start talking about a big black shadow man in a group of 20 or more people and its likely at least one will know exactly what your talking about, fairly common, We summized it could be possibly be the cause of cot death in infants.

Ive done a bit of web research and Im fairly sure the scientific explanations are correct, but a small part of me is not sure..

The guy I worked with claimed to have tried to confront the entity and then was thrown back onto his back by an invisible force, I think he may be talking B.S though.

Its also pretty funny as well. "The boogie man"

Ya'll might think I am blowin smoke up your asses, but when I was a kid, up until about 12, and almost everynight, I would wake up and was being held down by about twenty to thirty little fat people with blazing red eyes and pitch forks, they would laugh cruelly, and say she is coming. Then most times, she would just materialize from the closet or window and levitate to me, with crazy hair and pointed teeth, and no expression what so ever, her mouth never moved, just a gaping maw with beady black eyes, aying to me don't scream, I'm just the tooth fairy, in what can only be described as a sound like roaring water. Started seeing that at around 4, till about 12. I never screamed because I couldn't, and I was scared sh!tle$$ to say anything to my parents. Well I finally talked about it to my mom right before she passed, and she used to see the same exact thing growing up. Found out that it is also a common thing to have happen, talked to several people, and some of them had similar things, right down to the little people!

what does a dominatrix have in common with a heli? Both beat something into submission!

+1 on The Fourth Kind.
the in car camera from the squad car definitely made things a bit creepier.
anyone ever watched Communion with Christopher Walken?
now that was wild.

hey Spitfire whats up with the robes

I was that age and saw something in a hallway at night and i froze up, i couldnt scream and when i did parents came running out and searched the house thinking a robber was there.

what i saw was 3 beings all in robes and it wasnt a human's face, the robes were kind of a glowing blue purple color and I didnt see any feet as the robes were off the ground a foot or so. I was walking out for water and looked right into them from about 3' away and froze/screamed. the one in the center was the tallest and the ones on each side were much smaller by a few feet.

never knew what t make of it other then it scared the livin heck out of me.

Thats +3 so far, most dont remember until its brought up by someone else LOL.

I also seem to remember the black robes being addorned with some kind of metalic disc like objects, something like CD`s but you could see the spiral shape more promenently, like spiral discs.

The boogie man is real!

I believe something happens, it's just a matter of not knowing what exactly happens. I am not religious, so I am not burdened with the simplistic heaven or fire and brimstone stuff. I also don't believe the lights just go out when you die. For one thing, in order for you to perceive there is nothing, you have to exist spiritually to perceive it. Talk about a paradox. The other thing is energy can only be transferred, not eliminated, so where does the energy our body and brain is generating go? I have experienced places that don't feel right in the course of my life. Never any ghosts or anything like that. Just a bad feeling that comes on for no real reason and you are really glad when you leave. I've lived in a few houses that were just terrible to be in. Didn't stay long..

Why would 'existing spiritually' be a prerequisite to perceiving nothingness?

An intelligent, well-educated mind can imagine/perceive practically anything.
