someone brought this out to the field tonight, and was interested in getting it flying. Looking for any info on it. How well does it fly, anything unique about building/setup. Any info would be great.

PM badgerfarm,
and ask nicely, and he may help you.

He is one of the experts with these, and see his cheyenne build
on this site.
He also makes the plastic bodies for this machine, much higher
quality than the original.

best

michael

They fly great .. really axial rolls . I loved the one I had and wish I had never got rid of it !!!!

They setup much like todays birds ... except you probably can't get large minus coll on it because of the slider coll deal .
Although I believe Capt kirk hovered his inverted at IRCHA a few yrs back .(of course he can do about anything !! )

Keep the sliding coll rod lubed well as well as the tail drive cable .
Only remembered known issue was the motor shaft going through the bearing would setup metal interferrence issues on the old AM and FM radios ... shouldn't have that issue with the new FM and 2.4 radios ..
Good luck and keep us posted with pictures and videos !!!!

Bob;
I will mount the collective servos - we will need a throttle and tail servo and links. Let me know if you want to use your radio or mine. I have a 6 channel RX.

What engine are we going to use? I think I might have a throttle servo, but no extra tail servo.

Looks to have the Helistar/Superior head and follower.. Lots better than the original head and fork follower... Great flying Heli just do not get wild on the gain with the cable driven tail...

Rick

If in doubt lean it out . We don't do this to save money, we save money to do this

We rebuilt the head tonight - all was backwards to the drawings. now the links look better. Next week will work on the servo installation and links. We still need a motor, but all else is looking better.
