After the install and triple checking the mechinical setup, when I run up the heli the tail is no where near solid. What I mean is that the heading hold does not seem to be working. I can make T/R imputs and the heli reacts but still wants to swing out..nose right, tail left. I'm running the Align 3G, DX7. I was playing around with the gyro gain in the radio with no avail. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you complete the tail limit recognition correctly?

Is the LED solid green when powered up or red?
Green is HH mode, Red is Rate mode.

agree'd double check your limiting. i had a similar issue because i was used to the gp750 setup and they changed the way it works slightly on the gp780/3g.

Who cares... its just money...

I checked and the only light that is illuminated on the 3G system is the Green light on the top.

I take it that what you are saying is that you have tail drift in HH.
I had the same problem together with a tail 'kick'. this is all quite well documented on RR and other chat sites. I have, I think, fixed it on my 2nd 700/3G machine.
I noticed when I had the 3G software attached to the heli that i was getting some interaction between the ail/ele/pitch/tail readouts, only small numbers but nevertheless this was not happening on my other 700/3G machine, (which for information does not drift or kick.) They are identical apart from engines YS91ST & YR91SR. one was a flybar conversion the other a FBL kit.
Any way I was seeing a value change in the 'monitor' screen of the 3G software by between 8 and 20.I use a Ail/Throttle Ele/Throttle and Rudder/Throttle mix initially I thought I had mis-set this, but I had not.
What I did was completely redo the initial setup right from scratch from a clean memory (JR9303 2.4) after this I checked the monitor screen and had no interaction.
I was still getting a small amount of drift after this but it was much better. So I then removed the stock tape and replaced it with some thin double-sided tape that I have at work. I have used this on all my gyros as it does not separate like all the stock stuff seems to. It is tape used in the automotive industry for attaching trim, number plates etc. This gives quite a 'hard' sensor mount.
Now I have a no drift model that has not kicked since I have done this, about 30 flights. I would not be so big headed to say I sorted it, but so far it has worked for me.

Yeah thats good....The owner of the local Hobby shop also told me to try this align gyro gel to mount it on. We'll see what works but I'm sure its a gyro mount issue! Thanks for the imput everyone.

Ive found the 3G sensor needs to be on just one tape and and strapped down quite tight .

My friend had a problem earlier , turns out he used 2 lots of tape and the spartan metal plate , did not worked well at all.
