I was doing some stationary flips and it started bucking real hard, like small tic toc's not side to side just forward and backward. I fliped it upright as quick as I could but it kept fighting me. She went in before I could hit throttle hold. I'm thinking a blade strike but I didn't hear anything hitting. There is some scratches on the tail boom and a tiny dent on the top The last startup on the esc was after the crash to make sure it worked and the motor was alright. Does the sudden spike in power show a possible blade strike? Any ideals? Thanks

Specs:

turnigy typhoon 500
12 tooth pinion
castle ice 100
CC 10 amp bec
Hitec HS-5245MG
Jr 770
JR 3500g on the tail

I don't think it was a blade strike. The damage would be more evident on the boom. The damage shown is most likely the blades hitting the boom after impact. This seems more than likely an issue of a link popping loose on your head. It happens...I say always do a "pull test" before each flight on all of your links. Sometimes, you'll catch a problem before it catches you. Hope you get back up soon...the 500 is a fantastic machine. I've abused mine with hard 3D for over 2 years now. Miniamal maintenance and still going strong.

No linkes popped off, I've checked that already but the screw in the antirotation ball link was missing after the crash. Could that have caused it? I just thought it broke off during the crash but it wasnt sheard off, just gone. Head was already built, must not have had any lock tight If this is the case, is there any other specific damage that I should check for in the head besides the spindle and links? Thanks

I had the same thing happen to me I went through and put locktite on every screw but forgot the antirotation link and I was out flying upside down and when I fliped it back to upright it started acting really weird and it didnt matter what stick movement I did it was all over and nosed in. I thought the same thing that it broke in the crash then I noticed there was no part of the screw in the swash and it had backed out. I replaced it, fixed the usual shafts and other broken parts and now she flies like a champ ( I added locktite to the new parts of course).

and the blonde said "RECTUM, Hell damn near killed em!!"
