Hi everybody!

I'm in the project of converting a Trex 700N to 800E.
I want to swing 800 - 830 mm blades.
I want it for sport / AP flying.
I want to use a Scorpion motor (Because of the relation between price and quality)

I want to get high lift capacity and long flight times.

Ok, supose i use the 4035-560 + 12s 5000mah + 12 tooth pinion + 115T main drive.
With this configuration, i'll get about 2000RPM, "x" minutes flight time and "x" Kilograms lift capacity.
BUT, 2000 RPM is too much for 800mm blades, so i have some otions:

1) Don't go full throttle, so i will consume less AMPS and get more flight time.(IF I'M NOT WRONG)
2) Use 10s or 8s instead 12s, but i don't know the pros and cons of doing this.
3) Use a lower count pinion.
4) Use a lower KV motor, but, according to the Scorpion espacifications, the 560 wil give 4200W and a 400 will give 3400W.

Maybe Scorpion is not the choice?
I'm wrong with my calculations? (I'm not an expert)

Thanks in advance

Higher voltage will always be more efficient, so you don't want to go down cells if you can.
Too small pinion and you might face gear-stripping problems.
Get a motor with the correct kVA in my opinion that would be the best choice. Have a look at the HK5035 series, available at 410 and 500 kVA.

'The Scorpion HK-5035-410KV motor will provide all the power you need for the larger 800 class electric helicopters, those massive electric powered scale projects or for your workhorse camera platform helicopters that need to be able to lift heavy weights reliably.'

With great power comes great voltage times great current !
