Even after having second thoughts now......I LOVE it. Yes I does require some attention, and that you PAY attention as well, and maybe replace only SOME of the parts. But I took my time and "fixed" all the issues. Still after all of that, the model is ALL 7070 CNC parts. Yes it is belt driven.....but I stll crash.....Hmmmmmmm......LOL She will be a great heli. Think-N of buying another one to use as my scale mechanics for my Bell 222. One draw back is that she's a pig, she weighs almost 7lbs with the batteries.....but I'm not a stick bangger either and with all that metal in the tail you DO need two large batteries to balance. The tail is long enough to support 610mm main blades as well. And that makes a great scale flier!....SOOO my advise......BUY TWO.....!!!!!! @ $129.00 it's a steal.

Ouch - I try to avoid using plugs on my batteries that would allow me to plug a battery into a battery. The exception is the Deans micro plugs that I use on Rx packs. If you use Deans Ultra plugs (you show them in some of your photos), you can't do this unless you do something really stupid like put a male plug on a battery.

Yes you're right. I went with CC 5.5 bullets as the Castle Teks reccomended. They're nice plugs, and will wear a lot longer than the deans.....but now I'm thinking EC5 connectors...to be safe

It's pouring rain here so I thought I'd get out in the shop. I'm working on some details while waiting on parts for the mechanics. I started some rack lighting and flipped the tail. I still need to make a linkage for the tail but at least the heli is progressing again. Sorry about the terrible pics.

Work has been pressing lately so It's been a while since I had any time for my heli but I'm back on it. I've got the glass in and fully mounted the mechanics, test ran the new O.S. 61 and got my radio set up to test the mechanics. I also found a good trick making the rubber for around the windows of all 4 doors. Cutting 16 guage, auto wire down the middle. I'm going to make some glass for the two front doors that the kit didn't come with and adhere the glass on the inside of the rubber so it should look nice. I've got to smooth up and paint the inside walls and I'll be close to finished with the main part of the fuselage. The doors are still not quite finished but I've got them secure until I do a test flight with the fuselage. Enough rambling, here's some pictures.

I put this project aside for a while but I'm back on it now. I actually flew the mechanics today. I flew it pod and boom but I didn't put the horizontal stab. braces on after flipping and modifying the tail and I ended up with a lot of vibration. I'm running the engine rich so that's some of it but I don't believe that's all of it. The vibration is vertical. The tail is shaking up and down. Just a little more tweeking though and I should be ready to mount in the fuselage and give it a go before paint and finish. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now but like all scale, the detailing will go on forever.

I've been flying the mechanics for the md to the point that I'm confident in them. It's time to get them mounted to the fuselage and fly her. It's been a slow project so I'm motivated by the progress. I even had the mechanics inverted. Who knows this lady may end up on her back.
