I'm going to fiberglass my doors tomorrow as well as re-enforce the fiberglass around the doors and hopefully start laying on a few rivets. Need to paint some parts black on the cockpit and make some switches but here's another shot of the cockpit.

The kit is $59.95 if you assemble it yourself or $99.95 pre-assembled . It's really easy to put together though so I'd recommend doing it yourself.

It's been a little slow and I still don't have a good camera so no pics right now. I used a little CopterDoctor technique and used a cereal box for the inside door panel soaked in thin CA while I held the door to shape with good strong tape to the fuselage. I then used cereal box again on the fuselage around the door with a little less than an 1/8th sticking out from the door line which will act as the door stop. I may look for some good door latches but right now I'm thinking magnets for the doors. Getting the doors to shape after cutting them out has proven to be quite the task. I'm ditching the pilot I have because he's waaay too small and will take too much work to get him to fit. I've also been playing with lights and have the cockpit lit as well as the nose light and I'm now working on the tail lights. I'm going to try and get the red and green into the front of the skids but I haven't figured out how I want to do that yet. The doors are taking up most of my shop time right now. I'll try and post pics soon.

cool deal. what i did to run the light in the skids was this,
after i built the skids form the brakeline tubing, i drilled about 1/8th hole right in front of where the front strut is solderd to the skid. i then run the wire from the skid's front (toe) and then thru that hole and up the front strut and into the fuse. the exposed wire on that strut is concealed by the strut fairing which i made from construction paper.

I've been meaning to ask how you get from construction paper to paint and with a smooth texture? Are you just soaking in ca and sanding smooth?

actually, the con paper finished rather easily. spray it with primer, light sand and primer again as needed til smooth, then shoot it with paint. i use ca to glu it together but hasnt been needed to stiffen the finish, for that i laminate it two or three layers thick using med ca.

Sounds easy enough. I think I"ll give that a try. I love the idea of the paper and the cardboard is working well also. It's very light too. I'm trying to get the main fuselage finished minus details so I can lay some rivets and primer to then give her a test flight. Thanks for the tips C.D.

Well I finally got my camera back from the repair (replacement) shop so I took a few shots of the heli tonight. I'm disappointed with how cramped the cockpit is with the raptor mechanics but with seats and pilots in it won't look that bad. I've still got to paint the cardboard stiffeners inside the doors and smooth up my inner door panels. I'll also heat everything up quite a bit to shape the doors a little more.Overall I'm happy so far. I have a lot of neatening up to do but here's where I'm at

I'm sure this is posted somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it. Are the Align and Century Hughes 500MD bodies the same, and are they both really made by Funkey?

Seems the enemy just wants to take us out Bro! Hang in there, hope you feel better quick! I've had my own "run" in's latley. Still building the HK600 and was almost ready to spool her up for the first time.......Problem.....I forgot to hook up the ESC to the batteries, so.................I just plugged them into each other.......DON'T DO THAT......One mistake I'll NEVER do again. Always do a pre-flight check for every heli

Oh Man!! always hate to see anyone get hurt!
Keep putting neosporin or similar stuff on it so it will heal faster.

So what is your opinion on the HK600 before I go out and spend some money?
