Hey Barry I've been following this tread for alittle while cause I came across a TF Huey and I gave it to my best friend Val and since in the builder and he's the flyer I was the one that was building it for him! I used a Trex 600 mechanics with a flex tube cable for the torque tube drive in stead of the belt system, and being he wanted it to look scale with the high rotor head I built a platform 1_1/4 inch high so that the swash would sit above the doghouse and mast would sit high for the rotor head. And with everything else he wanted a slow head speed for a nice scale sounds when flying, and wanted to use large blades that he had laying around. I order a scale UH1 head from vario but it was on backorder so I impervise and took a stock Rex fly bar head and used it and made a make shift bell hiller bar across the top for the scale look to the vario head comes in. So this bird has been tested and she is running on 6s 5000mah with a CC HV 80 Esc and Align MX730 motor with a 470kv, so she flys for 7mins at 100% throttle swinging large 770mm blades at a head speed of 930 and is stable and flys so nice that I'm jealous that it's his bird now, when I could of kept it for myself. Anyway he wanted me to build it as an old Vietnam era Army gunship. So had to hand make the weapon pylons, rocket pods and Mount for the miniguns. The miniguns he order from ebay and they are very detailed, and I couldn't beleave I could have this thing built and flying in time for Dalton. The only thing I couldn't get done with the amount of time I had was build a cockpit. But after this weekend and we get back home I'll take it home with me and finish up the rest of the build with a full detailed cockpits and she be complete. With u guys noticed in my pics I added a side boom hatch where I mounted a platform to hold the tail servo and Naza GPS sensor where if I needed to ajust or make changes I wouldn't need to remove the mechanics to service the tail servo. As for how the battery is installed is from the top the center opening I made it magnetic so adding and removing the flight battery was super easy. So the side door don't even need to be opened. But for the side doors because of the indention ,one the sliding door I couldn't make them slide but can be removed easily because of magnets, but the pilots doors I installed a set of vario UH1 door hinges and the vario door handle kit so I could open, close and lock the pilots doors.and last was the lighting system witch I put a DElight led kit they are really bright and easy to install.most important part was to keep it lite.flying weight Isis 14lb11ozs

Well my hard work paid off and the smile on my best friends face at Dalton when he seen his newly built huey fly I thought his ears were going to touch in the back of his head it was so big. The huey perform beautifully with a run time of 7min on 6s with a 960 HS and I got a lot of compliments on how great it looked and flys, even had offers to take it off his hands and he said No tho was going to be his new favorite Heli.

Wow, that turned out sweet! Very nice job and I like the improvised flybar. It will be even nicer after you get the cockpit installed.

Hi Edward,
I will try to make the PSL event, but in any case Angie and I need to get away from our jobs and hope to visit Orlando and relax for a few days.
I will bring my two 407s and my Huey with me when we do head that way.
