That Spectrum Radio is a cool radio with all the features. The asking price is $800.00 but, I think they might come down from that.

From Jeff
Hello Helicopter Pilots,
We have some exciting news about our 3Gx. We now have a new firmware update version 2.0 that simplifies the use of the 3Gx. Easy to understand interface that enable access to all functionality. First upon opening you will notice that there is know longer specific model types. Also you can see starting points at a glance and make adjustments as you feel needed. This updated firmware will provide enhancements that you can feel and see in flight.
First thing you’ll notice:
Hovering stability, pilots doing hovering type maneuvers will feel a more linear control response. You have the ability to disable the cyclic pitch function to enhance hovering stability.
You can achieve stable fast forward flights regardless of helicopter size, and smooth transitions between maneuvers.
Now with cyclic and collective dampening function, for more stable flight and reduced power consumption.
Improved pirouetting compensation and added adjustment instruction, further improving pirouetting axial point.
With the above enhancement we have expanded the range of the 3Gx. The new soon to be released GPS module for the 3Gx will expand its functionality. We think you’ll enjoy the flight performance, and the expandability.

Best Regards,
Jeff Fassbinder

Boot Camp
Several members are going to the Minor Park field today. We're going to work on the basics. Rodger, bill,Pete and I are all planing to attend. Bill is bringing a hola hoop and we are gong to start some basic training. Pete and I are trying to get our Basic Training course sponsored. That could mean prizes. I think the most important thing is the fact that we are giving our pilots a very good foundation. I believe the training will significantly improve our pilots ability to fly. I would like to see 100% participation. This is not a one day event, this is a course that will stretch out for two mounths. I expect to see huge improvements. I'm going to give my best to make our team and traing the very best in the country. I have never seen or heard anyone take training to this level. If you going to be the best your going to have to train with the best. Once your are taught the basic training method it will be something you can work on at your own pace so don't worry about not being able to attend every training day. The most important thing is to train and follow the course don't skip any steps. I thoroughly expect to see great results and more important you will become a profecent pilot.

This is the way I would learn to fly if hindsight were twenty-twenty. Over my twenty years of flying there are basic things that have really improved my flying, little tricks that lead to big results. One little step skipped cound lead to years of failure. This is a very simple process that will lead to great success. If at any time you are not happy with the course your Zero dollar payment will be fully refunded. That's right it wont cost you a thing if you are a thunderbird. Not to exaggerate this could easily save you fifty thousand dollars or more in crashed helicopters and fact gathering travel expense that hopefully you could puzzle together like myself and other pilots have had to do to get to our level. Don't bother trying to reinvent the wheel we already know this one rolls. And remember I pity the fool that doesn't go to school.

I knew it once Rodger got a tast of whip cracking he would take to it like Biscuits and gravy. I thought we were just going to learn to fly now he's suggesting a diet as well. Rodger dose this mean salad for lunch??? Im sure hoping for potato salad!!!Why not we may as well start all of our problem solving on Saturday. If you have issues there will be no tissues. There's no crying when helicopter flying. That said lets all bring it in for the real thing so we can hit the hay and have a great Saturday.

Not all hola hoops are created equal
I hope you guys had better luck making a hola hoop than I did. As hard as I tried it just seems wrong.

This video is one of Pete's friends Chong. Believe it or not it's true. Pete makes friends where ever he go's.

What happened guy's? I was there at 11. The wind get to everyone? I saw it as a opportunity to fly without anyone there. Took my 450pro up flew fighting the wind until my packs time was up and had a hell of a time trying to land at a 45 degree lucky the wind died for a second so I brought it down fast breaking the little plastic pin in the tail. As soon as I landed the wind stopped of course.

Thunderbirds Boot Camp Day!
We had a great day today. There was a little wind but overall, the weather was good. Members arrived around 12:30 - 1:00. Training went really well. Another training day is coming up on Monday at the same time. Check out the pictures from today! Everybody enjoyed the training camp. A big Thank You to all the Thunderbirds that participated and helped each other out.

Well... There's a new whip cracker in town
His name is Bill. Wild Bill. It was a great day for training very positive. I had a great time! Now that Bills got a little air under his hola hoop he's a new take charge kind of guy. I heard him get right on Warren. Next thing you know Warren was light on the skids and up in the air with his self proclaimed book end or hanger queen. I'm sure after Bill gets his second lesson he'll like a surgeon snap Pete's shoulder back in the socket and have him cooking, helping others, taking care of club business all while funneling his Heli around the grill. Wow... If a little training can do this to Bill just imagine what will happen when other members get trained. We could be landing on the moon next week.

My Heli parts are here !
Can't wait to get my chopper back together so I can get back to buddy boxing. That's just another piece of the Heli training system that has become invaluable.

Helicopters sure are geting more and more complex. All the different electronics and flybarless systems have made helicopters very complicated. Some electronics don't work with other electronics. It becomes a complicated mess, one that takes flying time away from the person learning to fly.

There's a lot to consider when purchasing a helicopter. Its ability to go fly and outperform other helicopters is one thing to consider but not the only thing. When purchasing a helicopter things you want to consider are performance, parts availability, durability, crash ability and cost. Another thing to consider is the popularity of the helicopter you're going to choose. In your area, are you going to be able to get help with that machine?

In my years of flying I've seen a lot of people come and go, the number one reason people give up is a crash. You go home with a box of complex, broken and worthless parts. That's why my number one goal is to keep our pilots from crashing and to give them great information in purchasing the best equipment.

Everytime I go flying I see people trying to out fly their skill level the majority of the time they can get away with it, however their going to experience failure do to their pride and failure to seek help. I've even had people ask why their crashing so much yet fail to listen or take advice. This is why I'm spending time going back to basics. We all need to constantly work on our orientation to become better pilots. It's easy to go up and fludder around the sky never achieving anything new. It's become very aperant to me how very dificult the simple orientation T-Pattern is to master. This is very precise and demanding flying where flying flaws are easy to reconize and correct, giving you the ability to perfect your orientation. Instead of flying around oblivious to your ability we should all be striving to perfect our flying.
