Spectators & visitors for the Open House
Okay, so I've let a few friends know that we're having the Open House this weekend and I'm expecting at least a couple of them to show up.

Should I tell the friends I invited to come on in or should they wait at the gate until I go and escort them in? I know what the signs say regarding the rules, but I didn't know if they were being handled a bit differently for this particular event. So, I guess the question is, how are we handling things as far as spectators goes?

I know we talked about the rules regarding the spool area and where non-pilots need to be when someone is flying, but I'm just wondering about those who may congregate at the chain link fence.

Would it be too much trouble to put up some kind of brightly colored tape (like police or caution tape) between some wooden stakes that runs parallel to the driveway and have some simple signs on it that say "No spectators beyond this point"? Just an idea, but I don't know if we're going to have enough spectators to necessitate such a thing.

I suppose it's a bit late now and I doubt anyone will read this in the morning, but should I bring some food or something for the cookout? I still got a whole bunch of cheese slices left over from the KCPD landing. Maybe I'll just go ahead and bring them just in case...

I could bring some diet soda too unless someone else has it covered. I'd bring my cooler, but I just discovered that it was stolen from my storage locker.

Eagles Associates's Open House
It was a bit cool today, but the open house did great. We broke out the fire barrel to keep warm. Looking forward to tomorrow....it should be a lot warmer than today. Please come out to Minor Park Heli Field and see us...guaranteed to have some fun! Check out the pictures from today's event!

Well, the open house is over.
The open house was fun but cold. It's amazing how cold it is. I need some hot chocolate to warm up!

Another good day for the Eagles Associates Open House
It was another good day. Eric was determined and check out the transportation he used to get to Minor Park from 39th & Troost! That's a dedicated member! Way to go Eric!! Well, that's one way to save on gas...Stay Safe!

Everybody had a blast today...buddy boxing, flying, eating and just good old communication about heli's. The club continues to grow with another prospective member. Thanks to all who participated to make this event a success. Check out the pictures!

Good time, despite the poor weather.
The weather may have been unusually crappy for the Open House, but I still had a good time with all the Eagles this weekend and I'm glad that so many turned out to support the event.

Now bring on the summer!! Woohoo!

Buying batteries...
Hey guys, I'm shoppping for some more LiPo packs and I'm stuck on trying to decide what to get.

(Dave, if you're reading this, I'll get in contact with you before I buy anything if you still want to combine an order.)

So, Hobby King has these packs in stock (USA warehouse) that I'm looking at...

Zippy 6S 2650 30C : $38.81 ea
Turnigy 6S 2650 40C : $49.83 ea
Turnigy 6S 3000 40C : $54.28 ea

I'm really attracted to that $38.81 price for the 30C packs, but I also like the idea of going with the extra milliamps on the Turnigy 3000 and maybe getting another minute or so of flight time. Right now I can afford to get 3 of the 30C packs, but the others... mmm, I should probably stick with just 2 packs at those prices.

Opinions?

Thx!

Hello Stix, get three
1 to fly
1 to cool before charging
1 on the charger

This will keep you flying all day.
At lest that is my system.

Thanks, Sly.
I understand your logic in your method, which would allow me to carry and keep track of fewer packs, but I was thinking that I'd like to have enough (5 or 6?) so that I can charge them all the day/night before and then when I come to the field, be able to fly most of the day and maybe only charge 1 or 2 while I'm there.

But, I may consider your idea as well.... thanks again!

STIX MIX,

PM me your phone number when you get a chance. I think I want the 40C 3000 variety myself.

Denied!
Okay... edit...

I was flying in the field across the street today and the *blah blah blah blah* security guard walked all the way from the Toyota (*censored*) building to tell me I had to leave the property. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, and it ****ing sucked.

Hey, BTW, why does it say "Rated M For Mature" at the top of this page, but it censors the naughty language?

Ok Stix, problem solved
Here is the solotion.
That is pretty intense for a small, quiet, electric Heli.
I guess bieng on their property would give them the edge.
See photo on left. So, you want to keep me from flying?
