A friend asked me about the performance of the EC3(Blue pin type) connectors, I told him I did not know how good they were but that most people used Deans connecotrs. Are the EC3 connectors as good as Deans, most of the people I know cut them off and use the Deans connectors, Why? Do most people use the Deans just because they are so popular or do the EC3 connectors restrict power flow accross them?

I use deans because they can handle the current and are easy to deal with(for me). EC3 are just bullets connectors that are encased in grips. Although so far i haven't seen or heard of any ec3 connectors failing.

I have been using Deans for the last three years, and have come to the conclusion there just a pain to use. There a pain to solder, a pain to get apart with large damp hands, the heat shrink tends to pull back over time. I'm in the process to switch over to the EC3, they very easy to solder the pins, easy to grip, pop on of off for a secure connection, rated for 60amp.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

EC3's are rated higher than deans - and I personally love them. I converted everything from Deans to EC3 (except my 12s setup - where I am using EC5).

There was a good post on this earlier: https://rc.runryder.com/t543965p1/
