I have a 450m in a se v1 frame with v3 bits. I found pointing the motor wires toward the 7 o'clock position when viewed from above helps. Lightly shape the motor leads so they point toward the side opening in the frame. My esc is mounted to the side next to the motor.

Make sure the motor leads don't get crushed or pinched when you tighten the motor screws. I had to work them so they curled down and away from the shaft side of the motor. You don't want the motor mount smashing the leads.
