Guys,

I am thinking of changing my current nitro bird to a new one, and wanted some genuine honest opinions on where the T-rex 600N is now in terms of quality/longevity.

I had an early 600N Pro, and would have said that it suffered from the following:

Excessive wear in ball links
Swashplate would become stiff and need upgrading
Tracking was off, this showed up particularly in loops/flips
Very poor bearings
Constant stream of 'upgrades' to fix things

I'm not looking to bash the 600N, as I'm seriously considering a 600N LE, just interested to know if some/all of the issues the earlier ones had have been fixed.

Possibly considering Velocity or N5 at the same time, but the 600N is very good value particularly as a combo.

Honestly i don't think they upgraded any of those areas. I have 600Pro too but with all the upgrades. Kasama head & tail, all 700 ball links,G-force parts too.

If i had to buy new 600 over again I think the Outrage Velocity will win... Align just sells a ARF kit at great price..

Mine is a couple of years old now and has given many hours of trouble free fun. To be honest I think they represent excellent value whichever version you choose. Things do wear out, that is also true for all models out there. Lets face it, the balls are a weak area, but they don't exactly break the bank to replace. I'm still running the original bearings and swash etc. I have added metal blade grips and a CNC tail box (mine is the Sport version). I have also changed the paddles and tail blades to 3K carbon items, primarilly for "bling factor" rather than out and out performance. However it has to be said, I'm not a 3D'er by any stretch of the imagination. I prefer general sport flying and run of the mill aerobatics, so I guess you could say I don't really push it too hard. Aggressive 3D on any heli will usually push the aforementioned components to and sometimes beyond their limits. To sum up I'm very happy with my Rex and hope it continues to provide the enjoyment I have become accustomed to.

There is is no big changes between 600N super pro and 600LE/3G. Basically still the same kit.

There are significant differences between the original Pro and the newer NSP/LE/3G, not loads though.

The new swash is double bearing, no slop and strong, good swash.
Nothing wrong with Align ball links these days IMO.
Frames stiffener as standard is nice.
I haven't had any problem with tracking either.

Poor bearings, yes I agree.

Only upgrade worth it on my bird was the tail grip KDE upgrade V2, adds a bearing and better pitch arms, no slop at all. Otherwise the stock bird is quite solid now INHO,

I went over it in the winter and found no slop and nothing that needed replaced, damn I must be lucky or maybe I fly like a pu$$y!

Sounds like they have improved it over the original PRO version I had, I'm interested in the comments regarding the phasing because this was one area I always felt was off - so this is sorted too?
