Boy, I'm really full of questions this evening . OK, one of the balancing tab wires (black wire) came loose at the lipo (3S 2200mAh 20C). Is this an easy repair or should I just scrap the lipo, which does have 60 cycles.

I had this happen on 3 of my Zippies. I'll leave you to ponder the quality concerns this raises. In my case, I very carefully opened up the end and resoldered. It turns out the node wire broke off at the solder joint inside the pack. The pack was constructed so the wire that broke was near the edge of the covering and any movement of the wire would bend the section next to the solder.

Be very care with your selection of tools and how you execute. Under the covering, on the edge of the pack is a small board where the cells and balance wires are soldered. I used the tip of an exacto knife to pull the insulation away, being very care to keep the blade raised away from the pack. Soldering also be careful when soldering, not to short any of the exposed leads. I recovered the end of the pack with small section of black duct tape.

Thanks for the information.

Spencer, I may ask your Dad if whe would try to resolder this loose wire for me. Though I do solder my own battery and ESC connectors, I don't have much patience soldering small wires.

I did this a number of times. Just know what you are doing and proceed cautiously.

Jim, the balance tab wires are way easier to solder than the connector wires, takes two minutes. Let your soldering iron get real hot and do it quick, like butter.
