I'M NOT IN THE METALLURGY. BUT I BELIEVED THAT THE MATERIAL USED FOR FLYBAR IS NOT SATISFACTION IN ANY TESTING PRIOR TO MANUFACTURING.

SO BE VERY CAREFUL FLYING TOO CLOSED. YOU CAN'T REALLY TRUST THE MACHINE.

Probably all QC resources have been used in testing the FBL heads

I'm glad no major incident occurred. Join the crowd and go FBL, bud

This happened to me with my Shluter Junior 50. The flybar broke at the threading of the flybar. Required me to do my first ever auto because under power it was shaking itself to pieces.

dang man, hate to see that. was this an Align flybar ? i took a good dive to earth with my 500, the flybar didn't bend at all. i know the 600 flybar has to be a little thicker. just knowing it broke in half while flying is kinda scary

nothing to it but to do it

Never heard of this and I have crashed and tore up few align flybars and they never broke....
Wondering if there isn't something else going on here. You are warning people not to trust the Heli, and that's jumping the gun. There is no reason to call the align flybars bad or suspect. My guess is that there is something else going on here that you have not stated. There is no evidence of any issues with aligns FBs.

Sorry, but a few out of millions is not a very common problem....
If you keep braking them, purchase some rod and make your own, see if that helps ya

This is a quote that might help ya....

I have now broken three flybars on my 600, and 1 on my 700. the 600 is running 440mm flybar, and stubbs, and the 700 is regular bar, and it was running stubbs, but I couldnt find the other flybar and stubb yet, so I had to switch back to standard paddles for now. I have no ideal what is causing them to break, however I do have a theory about it.
The last time I was going to the field to fly, while driving (40 mile each way) I looked back to make sure everything was riding OK in the back of may car, and noticed the flybars on both heli's was vibrating an incredible amount from the road. Im wondering if, after a while that the vibrations weaken the flybar where it comes out of the cage, until it reaches the point that any type of high speed move in the field makes it snap off in flight? I have now started to wrap a rag around the head, and drape cleaning rags off each end of the flybar while in transit, which has taken a lot of the vibrations out of the bars. maybe this will help.

First of all, there is a sign above the box where you type that says do not type in all caps. Seems like 500's have a problem with tail boom strikes and 600 flybars fail. I wouldn't call Align junk, just look at how many are produced. The more that is produced, the more stories you are going to hear about because of the odds.

I broke a flybar on my ESP last weekend - I was coming out of a flip and heard a loud pop. I landed without incident, found the flybar half, and it had broken off about 1/2" outside the flybar cage. The paddle (a 3K CF Align) was damaged as well.

The previous weekend to this crash, I had a power failure and landed in a tree. Only casualty in that crash was a broken link and a bent flybar; I bent the flybar back. I can't remember if the broken flybar half was the one that I bent back, but I suspect that the flybar itself might have been work-hardened by the bending. Did you recently bend the flybar back into shape from a crash or other mishandling?

T REX 600 FLYBAR DEFECTED
So, what you are yelling at us is that you think your flybar broke because the other half wanted to defect to Russia?

defective flybar what i really mean.
i try to focus the camera as much as i can. if you look closely to the flybar pictures, the way it brake was liked broken glass. i think this is what the indication of heating and cooling process of the metal to quickly w/c creates a bubble (micro voids) inside. that's all folks...

How hot do you think a flybar is getting during a flight? I don't think there is anywhere near enough friction to even slightly warm it up.
