I'm talking electric here.

2 top contenders in the market going head to head with 2 90 sized full on Helicopters, with both being priced realitivley close. Never owning either Name brand helicopters, I would like to hear from you guys in the trenches. I'm looking to pull the trigger and order one of the 2 up, so I need some input, as there is NOT much out there but pictures. What is going to be the major differences if any? No bashing allowed!

Thanks

I own a rave 450 and an aurora so i own one of both brands. customer service wise they both have been have been nothing but great. I was planning to get a rave 90 but after seeing it in person and watching it fly I'm going with the e-aurora. The rave 90 is very unimpressive. As much as I like curtis products I'm just not into the rave 90. It's pretty much a trex 700 that can be either electric or nitro. While the head and tail are slightly different there's nothing spectacular about it that makes it any better other than better customer service than align.

The Rave ENV does't make me say, "Wow" like the Aurora does. Considering the fact that Avant will come out with a flybarless head soon, I think the Aurora is the clear winner.

I agree with Justin, the Rave just doesn't look as good. I don't quite understand why the Rave was designed with frames so you can swtich between nitro & electric. I would not be swiching between nitro & electric, and I don't suppose many pilots would see this as a benefit. The Aurora looks a much better Heli, great layout. Just hope there will be a steady supply in the Uk!!!! Great to see it comes with a canopy. (shame I had already bought and paid for a insane canopy! ). I am hoping to compete in the Uk F3C nationals in August with this Heli .

While this thread is about electric, I'll chime in anyway...

In looking to get another nitro 90, I pre-ordered a Rave FBL a couple months ago. Recently the Aurora nitro started to actually show up in stock. The Aurora does look much nicer, and I considered getting one instead, until I did a parts price comparison. While I'm fine paying extra for the kit, I can't justify the parts prices... the difference was considerable. That, and the fact that I'm going FBL and the ENV has the option to ship that way (sure Avant is working on an FBL head, but who knows when that will be available, they don't exactly have a very good track record when it comes to timely shipping). I plan to get the totalG which makes the FBL pretty much plug and play, considering the heli and electronics are from he same company. That makes more sense for me, even if the look of the ENV is less than inspiring (sorry Curtis).

I already have an N9, which looks awesome, but has parts prices that are way up there... one of those is enough for me. Fly's awesome though.

That said, you may want to wait until both helis are actually shipping to get a more informed opinion.

BTW, CY is working on a set of electric only frames... not sure if he will ship any kits with those frames though.
