I had a mini G catch fire today on my rave in flight. I brought it into a hover and smelled smoke. Landed looked it over could not find anything spooled back up and the smoke boiled out. two minutes into the first flight. It is just burnt in one corner, but is smells bad. I can not figure it out. I have never herd of a gyro going out in a puff of smoke. I have been running this setup for a year now. I have a 520 I will install tonight.

I have never heard of anything like that EVER! Not even in testing or development. I would be VERY interested in taking a look the gyro. I would fear voltage delivery issues from my BEC if I were you. Yes the Mini-G will take a decent amount of voltage, but if for some odd reason it got a good burst of high voltage it might fry the gyro for sure. I am not saying that is what happened, but it is worth thinking about before you just throw in another gyro and go flying. You might have the same end result with your 520 as well. So if I were you I would do a little testing before I flew that model again, but that is me. Contact me via e-mail and I will get you set up with an RMA for the gyro. I do want to take a look at it for sure.

Makes me feel better I sold the align gyro that came with my 500 and replaced it with a CY MiniG. Great customer service. I hope I never have to use it.

That's what makes CYE such a great company. They not only make great products, but they're genuinely interested in constant improvement and providing outstanding customer service, no matter the issue.

Along with Curtis, you won't find a better group of guys in the industry!
