Next thing you know, people are going to be holding-up convenience stores to pay for helis, but instead of a pantyhose mask you'll see a 700 canopy with a couple a holes punched out to see through

Some day, only the beginners will be flying 700's. The "pros" will be flying 1000's or 1200's.

Is it just me or does it look identical to the 700E just with a stretched boom?

Surely they didn't have enough time between the release of the 700E and now to change it very much?

Competation rules limit the weight, size, and other parameters (max voltage for EP) so that has a lot to due with the max size that manufacturers like to make. If it’s too large the market is very limited and it’s hard to recover the development cost.

That depends on how many meetings were required to determine the exact lenght of the stretch and how many consultants were hired to get advise on the issue.

LOL
Who knows, they might add a bit more to it, to make it more demanding...
They just give us enough to mess with us. I'm sure it will be a sweet machine when they get to the final version.
Anyhow Align is kickn a** and taking names!

When you go too longer blades and a longer boom you have to due a lot of durability testing to make sure it can handle the extra load. Possible larger bearings, thicker hears, reinforced frame and other changes may be requires. You just have to due the engineering analysis and a lot of flight testing to know how it will hold up.
