What is the most extreme motor available for the 450 on 4s right now? Everyone seems to like the 2221-10, just wondering if there is any other motor worth looking into. Thanks...

Most extreme would be the 2221-8 motor on 4s. That things has some serious power, but you have to keep an eye on the bearings. It is technicaly a 3s motor, but man is it an animal on 4s.

I do not run mine quite that hot, I run the -10 with a 14 tooth pinion, but I beleive the guys are running the 12 tooth pinion on the -8 with 4s, but I could be wrong. The batts are Blurr 2100 mah 4s packs.

I don't believe you can actually run a 13 tooth on an -8 due to headspeed being well over 3700rpm unless you govern like
I do and my headspeed is 3206 and that is at less than 85% a little harder on batteries then -10

So the 12t governed down to 3300 is the way to go?

even down to 3200 if your more flight time concious and arent trying to get absolute max performance or the same if your flybarless.

13 tooth governed at 3200rpm or 3300rpm or 11 or 12 ungoverned 100% flat any of the above are great set ups. The 11 tooth 100% flat will give you more flight time and probably all the power you want I just did not have an 11 tooth, and 12 tooth 100% flat is just to much. I personally will compare multiple setups in the future between -8 and -10 being I have both. I liked the 10 on 13tooth alot as well just needed new bearings so while waiting for ceramics I got a great deal on a -8 and being the castle esc rep was available we tested different set ups w/icelite50 with the -8. I am getting about 4 min with 13 tooth governed. I got 4.5 min on -10 with 13 tooth 100% flat.

The only way I like the -10 was ungoverned but I love the CC gov, so for me the -8 is the hot set up for now, but I have another motor hopefully coming soon that may be the new hotness.

No doubt the 8 is the hot set up, possibly to hot for my needs. I really prefer at least 4:30 min flight times and have not been able to get them from the 8. My skills are no where near good enough to benifit from 3200+ headspeed don't get me wrong it is a lot of fun it just is not going to make me a better pilot.

I am using the -10 engine on a 4S setup. governed to 2900rpm. on a FBL setup. I have the timer set to 5.30, and with easy going I add a minute to that before it get dangerously low.

At 2900, it does all I ask and more. But then it is governor'ed' with a Jive
