Just started setting up a travel blog.

My wife and I are both in our mid 30's. Our one big "splurge" is our two yearly winter vacations. We usually do a one week trip in January, and then a 3 week trip in March.
We also do several "mini-vacations" during the summer.

Our goal is to be completely debt free in 3 years! We have 4 years left on our mortgage, but with pre-payments and bumping up our payments a little, we can easily pay it off in three years. We have been in the house for 5 years, so will have it paid off in 8 years total! ( when we first moved in, we were paying about $125 weekly on our mortgage, we are now paying over $500 weekly). We tapped into the mortgage a little, to put on an attached garage, and to do some more investing.

When I got my Captain upgrade at work, my pay went up by at least 40%. We didn't really change our lifestyle that much, just pretty much dumped the extra $$$ into the mortgage and investing.

Anyway, here is the link to our travel blog/pictures. (It's a work in progress!!)

One question, how do you get a mortgage for $125.00 a week? We pay that much for our mortgage everyday, lol. BTW, nice blog site. I would suggest a little more introduction to each place and maybe a nice photo as a header.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Yeah, I know, the site is a continual work in progress.
I will be adding more details to each entry soon.

As for the mortage, the province we live in (Manitoba, Canada), has one of the most afforadable housing markets in Canada. (probably has alot to do with our crazy winters, and everyone wants to move to the west coast!)

Our house has since more than doubled in price in the last 5 years since we bought it. It's not a huge house, but quite comfortable for us. We don't plan on having kids, so don't really need more room. We live in a nice, quite area, and have a HUGE backyard, so I am quite happy where we are. I would rather be debt free in a fee years, than be paying off a house till I am 65!
