Shouldn't take you a week to get it running :-) Really nice and easy. You'll see.
Looking forward to all your experiences.

Cheers,

Castle stuff:)
Hey guys I am on a budget...

trying to build a new heli every week and maintaining the other 12 I have is expensive...lol...

so I am trying to build this new "Beater" with some less expensive gear

I suspect after about 5 flights the Castle will be replaced with a jive though...

this is my new "Beater" project....a Kaos framed logo 700 with the New Scorpion 5020/450kv set up for 12s...and 690mm blades
with this new HC3X

Hey Anthony,
I bet you a buck you will be surprised at how well the CC runs if you take the time to dial in the settings

It isn't the new HC3X, but here is an old vid of Bobby Smith flying the Helicommand Rigid system on a Logo 500 some 2 1/2 years ago:

http://emft.blip.tv/file/537772/

The HC3X ought to be pretty good if it improves on the Rigid!

Helicommand Rigid..
Apparently the rigid worked pretty well other than the tail gyro...the HC tail gyo was terrible so most people were using external gyros(including that logo 500 in that video)

I think the improvement in this unit will be mostly to the tail gyro portion...so we'll see

Thanks for the vid...looks like he was really smacking it down with that rigid...

Nice vid but thast system was not designed for 3D

Anthony was the first person in the world to fly the HC3X (actually aimed @ 3D flight)at IRCHA last year....even with a few unruly and bad spectators around .

I am sure they have made some improvements and I am anxious to see what the new system flies like and what goodies they added. Please keep us posted Anthony

Looks pretty good to me for not being "designed for 3D"!

HeliCommand Rigid and HC3-Xtreme
The rigid mode was already working almost perfect in the HC Rigid, as Anthony stated already. And in all the older videos, the guys like Bobby flew it in Rigid mode only (called EXTREME mode already :-)) using an external gyro. The internal gyro as well as the unit in general was designed for beginners and scale pilots in the beginning. Further improvements made flight like Bobby's possible then, as people asked for it. But the hardware was getting to the limits.
So time for a new one :-)
To let you all know: the prototype from IRCHA 2009 was not really a technical (hardware) prototype, as there was only a little adjusted hardware from the HC Rigid inside. The main thing that day was to test the new firmware and tail performance.
Today, with the HC3-Xtreme we are talking about a complete new system: to the max developed firmware as well as hardware with brandnew HQ gyros and new features for setting up the unit easyily and the new set-up assistant and RealTime-Tuning (adjusting all tail and rigid patameters in flight by assigning them to the tail channel of the HC3-X). And of course a pefect tail, which surely feels like the main improvement for those who know the old gyro performance... which wasn't bad, but not suitable for 3D.

@Anthony: I am sure you will feel the difference also to the prototype very fast :-)

Cheers for now,
Joachim
