From what I've been told and it was posted on the AMA newletter that spektrum recievers are having brownout from improper voltage and that regulated 6.0V is the fix. Talk to Doorman about it. But I see you are useing the antenna are you still using fm,pcm ect... ???

the ec is on 2.4g i have been for the ast year since i started flying on 2.4, using the std 4.8v batteries with so far no worries. i use high mah packs to help maintain long durations. but stan sent me a pm with his thoughtsw and i am goin gto start using lipo power regulated for the rx's power source.
i still have a few helis on 72mhz. with as manyhelis as i have, the conversion of all the machines wont come overnight but i am almost there. the airplane fleet will be next

Man, sorry to see this Emile...

I know you'll have it back together in no time, though!

My Jet Ranger went down early on because of a bad RX pack (std 4.8), and I have since switched to regulated LiPo for my RX packs. No problems since, and you can get a ton of flying out of them.

Emile,

Your RX should be the new updated version which eliminates the boot up delay in the event of a momentary low power situation.

Now if the battery is bad this feature is of no use.

a suspected low voltage situation is thought to have been the cause of the crash. inflight pics to come

I don't know if you remember but i crashed my long ranger last year and I eventually narrowed it down to low voltage. I was running a 4500 mah nimh rx battery with an ar7000. I have since switched to regulated lipos on everything I fly. The last 3 crashes I had on my 3d machines left me baffled before my scale incident, simply falling out of the sky. I would check voltage and rule that out as the cause but It was exactly that. While reading some documentation by Spektrum it states clearly to not use 4.8 volt power. I've learned the very very hard way. Glad the heli is up again and enjoying your other builds.

spektrum recievers are having brownout from improper voltage
Improper voltage == has to drop to 3.5 volts or lower. At 3.5 volts on a 4.8 volt pack, you're flying on borrowed time. It was dead a half volt ago.
