Is Skookum going to have a version for small helicopters? The only one I find has the heavy duty power buss. I hate paying the big bucks for something that I will never use.

You dont have to use the buss, its an option for high power servos.
Without the buss its pretty small, smaller than the main unit on my vbar.

You are missing the point. They make you pay for the buss anyway. I’m just asking for a version without the buss for a little less money. Like they did with the SK360 when they cut the price and offered an option to purchase without the programming cable at a lower price.

No, They are not going to. the buss is part of the package. Some of the Beta Testers talked about it with them when we where testing the first units, and then had a chance to buy a second beta unit from them. They still included the buss on the second ones as well, even if we didnt not want them. Its just Skookums bussiness approach to a packaged unit. I have two buss(s) sitting in their packages right now, because I had no need for them.

Hope that helps

The bus has no logic so I dont think there would be much of a cost savings.

The bus is a very simple 'junction box' I doubt it cost Skookum more than a few pence to make up. Regard it as A free extra. The 720 wouldnt be any cheaper if they had decided not to give it away free.

Heres what skookum told us earlier on this:

Cutting the bus from future sales units is an option, though we don't
know yet how much it would save. But the USB cable not so much. Simple
USB cables turn out to have the highest markup I've ever seen. I can't
figure out why they cost $35 in all the chain stores.

That’s very good. At least they are considering it. According to Skookum you only need the bus for helicopters larger than 620 blades.

Bent-T-Spindle, where did you get this? The manual states this:

We strongly recommend using the Skookum Robotics SK-PW7 power bus accessory for helicopters with blades larger than 500mm.

If anybody has no issue flying the sk-720 on 600 sized heli on 6v or more without the power bus, let me know. I don't like the extra wiring on the power bus, so it's great if I can get away without that.

My manual has this statement (page 2):

“Optional 20 amp external power bus for over 50-size and nitro helis”

I assumed that ment that you didn’t need the power buss unless you had a large 90 size helicopter. I was planning in putting it on a 600 size electric without the power buss.

I could not find the current ration for the internal SK720 buss. Has anyone found the current limit on the internal buss?
