After flying my 700LE 3G, I noticed my tail was rotated slightly down from blades vertical. I took the boom out of the forward mount and it all appeared it was lining up properly on that end. I pulled the tail box off and it was properly fitted there. Anyone run into their boom notched/drilled "off"? I have a couple spares but hate to change it out as I can't tell any difference in flight.

Yea, the holes aren't exactly perfect, but resist trying to widen them to get a good alignment, you'll end up with the tail moving around and you'll have to replace the boom.

It doesn't affect the flight characteristics as far as I can tell, just an annoyance.

It happens all the time on the Align booms. The slot in the front is not aligned with the hole in the rear. I do enlarge the slot in the front of the boom on the side necessary to rotate the boom the way I need and have not had one turn on me yet.

Ahh! Never thought about the front, you could do it against the torque so it won't ever move, great idea!!!

ya, the front slot on the boom is off. My second batch 700 was and my latest 700le is... guess they arent going to fix it by now

Nothing an exacto knife and 10 seconds wont fix.

I don't think it's the boom but the slot in the front tail transmission that the boom slides into. Mine's off just a little, so are most the others I've seen. Personally I just left it. I did try to twist the boom as much as I could before tightening down the bolts and that took some of it out otherwise I'm ok with it.
