Any after market vertical tail fins to help keep the tail blades out of the grass? Perhaps a tail fin from another heli.

Anyone tried a different landing gear that is taller?

Thanks

The painted Fusuno fins are glass fiber and are a little flimsy. I personally dont have any but Have read reports of them not holding up well.

As an option try these,
http://www.helidirect.com/carbon-fi...500-p-13526.hdx
There 20mm longer than stock, made of CF and everybit as strong as the OE fins. I have two sets and have no complaints.

I have one of the painted Fusano tail fins and it's stiff enough.

I also have a Trex 500 tail fin on my 450.
Had to drill one hole and it's a little more swept than normal but it looks great, holds the blades off the pavement and tracks better in rate mode.

Try a 600 fin on your 500.
All my tail feathers...

hi: just like another reply, i have a 450 with the 500 skids on it. if on a level surface, there is about 1.5 inches of clearance. so why not increase the skid size. the screw pattern might be a little different but that's an easy fix.

If you look at the Blade heli in the pic of mine,it has Trex 450 skids on it.Just drilled some new holes.

Lots of options to keep the tail up.

I have a fusono tail, the yellow one.
IT seems more flexy which I'm hoping allows it to survive a crash better than the CF one (bend but not break).

Where I fly, I keep a few bare spots on the grass for me to take off or land on so the tail blades don't get much grass on them.

By the way,the Trex 250 in the pic is the one with Fusano fins and the 450 in the pic does not yet have the 500 fin on it.
