I bought the 600 tailcase to convert my 500SE to a 600 Stretched. The tailcase has the 2 holes options for the belt tensionner, but came with 2 small bearings that are covered with a small plastic tube.

I also bought the carbon belt tensionner, which seems to be better than the one that came with the case. However it seems to be made for the older tailcases that only had one hole option for the tensionner. Should I just use the bearing from the newer tensionner along with a long pass-through bolt and proper spacers (just like the newer 6003D kits), or should I use the newer belt tensionner and bolt it to only one side of the tailcase?

Thank you!

Max

I run both with excellent-results, the "tensioner" on mine is the standard-bearing with flanged-bearings on each-side (all on 1 through-bolt). Brass blade hole-adapter's work great inplace of the plastic end-pieces.
As for the single-bearing type unit (that has the CF mounting-arm) I only use this as a guide, it has a 1mm. spacing between it and the belt.
There are a few-different set-up's that will work-well (as Shawn posted)

Here's the others, One with the CF-Armed Bearing assembly, One with the Bearings on the through-bolt (better than CF-Armed (only) IMHO)

Thank you for the replies. Finally, I used the bearing from the "carbon belt tensionner" with a few spare spacers I had. So now my tensionner is setup exactly like the stock Logo 6003d kit.
