I see this part is now listed. However, I have no idea how/where it would be used. I was thinking that it might be for mounting your tail boom braces to the back of the carbon frames on one of the frame spacers there. That seems like it would be more likely to snap the frame if you crash and the tail boom gets torqued.

Anybody got any idea what these are for and where they install?

I was wondering what that was for as well, do you mean where the spacer is just below the tank? I am not sure that the frames are strong enough there. I wondered if they might be parts for the 90?

Tim.

I would suspect that is what they are for. I made my own back in December. I had a real nice tail first crash last month and it didn't hurt the frames, but broke the carbon boom into 5 pieces.

Go to the ElyQ site and look the pic up under spare parts. To my knowledge, none of us have the part... We are wondering about it.

If you all are running your boom supports on your landing gear, this is a mistake. The landing gear has flex which translates through the supports and into the boom. Attach the supports to the frame in the bottom hole. I have had a couple re-kit type crashes and have never broken the frames behind the tank.

This simple mod will fix any vibration to the tail, and makes the entire machine smoother. Try it, I guarantee that you will like it.

Hope this helps

Was thinking about doing this a while back, but nice surprise to find ElyQ released an upgraded method.

I'm also going to remove my horizontal fin for less drag.

did the same here too on one of mine the other night. i actually went to ace hardware, picked up 2 x 1/2" aluminum spacers and used those. same lenght the compass k3d uses for the standoffs on their frames for the boom supports, but what i also did was cut the carbon rods shorter to keep the horizontal fin in the same location
