Nothing wrong with that gyro .
I would be more concerned about the DX6 or did you mean DX6i ?

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

IMO - the g500t, like all JR gyros drifts. Being new, you may not even notice the slight drift. Just hope you got more than a great price on it.....

I don't have a DX6, no comment.

I have a 9303 with the 2.4 mod.

I also have a Futaba 7chp 72 Mhz(collecting dust).

My advice would be to get at least 7 channels with the 2.4 Ghz system. Buy the best radio you can afford.

Your radio choice will effect your Rx choice. So don't forget to review the prices of Rx's.

If you can get a radio with 2048 resolution, do so.

Although Futaba radios tend to have more programming features than comparable JR or spectrum systems, they are harder to program.

You should really go to your local hobby shop and hold the radio in your hand to get a feel for it. keep in mind that you will be flying all of your models with this radio.

Futaba, JR, Spectrum and Hitec make good radios. Hitec would be the least expensive.

good luck.

The DX6 is a park flyer radio (limited range), I wouldn't use it in a Raptor 30 , but I guess it would be OK for just hovering close in .
Ideally you do really need to be looking at a minimum of a seven channel radio to get all of the features that you are likely to need .

As for the gyro . Set the gain on the gear channel , start at 50% gain in both modes .
Set the travel adjust on the rudder channel to 80-100% .
Setting them higher will give you a crazy pirouette rate .
In HH mode , use sub-trim to cancel any servo drift . Many people come up with the old 'you mustn't use trim on a gyro' , but that is exactly what you must do with JR gyros , it's even in the manual !
Then hover in HH mode , make sure that the tail is trimmed and there is no drift , fine tune the trim if needed .
Then switch to rate mode . In all probability , the tail will then turn in one direction or the other . You must then adjust the length of the tail linkage to trim the tail in rate mode .
This adjustment to trim the tail in rate mode will have no effect on the trim in HH mode .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

I've had 4-5 of these gyro's including the one I currently have on my Raptor. They work fine and setup properly they don't drift for me. I like them *slightly* better than a 401 though I wouldn't sell one for the other. The big difference is during setup on the JR 500 gyro you *must* use subtrim to take out the drift because this gyro uses a fixed known center where the 401 learns the known center when initializing.

Here is some more reading for you.

different radio but gives some hints on the G500T setup

I have the JR G770 3D gyro on my T-Rex 600 and a GY401 on my Raptor 30 and there is no drift in either. Can't tell the difference. Love them both. Hope the G500T works out for you.

The G500t is a solid gyro - I have one on my Raptor 30 and it's quite easy to set up. In fact, I like it better than the GY401 on my Blade 400. Just remember to use trim to center it in Heading Hold mode, and also make sure that you set the DS mode appropriately.
