Try sliding it down lower on the battery tray, 500 is a very tail heavy heli as it is...

Mount your ESC further forward maybe? Battery as far forward as the canopy will allow? Could the tail servo go further forward?

I put my battery as far forward as it will fit and still allow the canopy to fit, my tail servo is right up to the tail block and it is still a bit tail heavy. I just fly it that way. I kind of like it. When I am practicing nose in and nose in inerted it will drift away from me a little. Makes me feel more comfortable if the heli is coming at me, it is because I told it to do so, not because it's drifting.

Lead....
As much as I hate adding dead weight to the heli...sometimes you just need to add LEAD wight to the machine to get the CG right...

Try the Prather sticky backed Lead plates...the work Very well...

That wont affect the CG of the heli. Hold the heli on its side by the blade grips, the heli should stay level if the CG is correct. Best to remove the motor pinion so the heli can spin both ways.

I use a dab of modeling clay jammed in the nose of the canopy. Using this method it allows the weight to placed as far away from the CG as possible which requires less weight overall. Its also easy to add or remove weight as needed to match new battery weights in the future.

It affects forward flight because you are constantly fighting a heli that wants to go backwards.
On the other hand its great to practice backwards flight.

As has been said before move your lipo as far forward as you can, add weight to the inside of the nose tip as far forward as possible, youll be surprised at how little you need. If anything you want a slightly nose heavy machine if still flying with a flybar.
