I am changing banks so I called Paypal to remove my 5th 3rd account.
Since I have no current checking account to replace it,they imposed a $10,000 a year spending limit on my Paypal account until my new checking account clears.

I am over my limit and can't spend with Paypal until my new account clears.lol...WTF??

About 75% of my Paypal spending is RC stuff.

Of course,my year is up next month and I'll have my $10,000 limit again but OMFG!!!

I literally never use the word literally right.

Something similar happened to me when I pulled an account from my PP, but if I remember correctly it was trying to send the amount of $10K from my account instead of the amount I wanted to send.

No.That's the limit I can spend over a 12 month period using Paypal without an attached checking account.

My Wife asked me to be cognizant of the expenses, but she did not yell at me. After all, we dropped several thousand on her saltwater aquarium addiction.

Now that I'm more open with the expenses, I've found that I have more enjoyment with the hobby. It also does not hurt that I'm tending to fly helis with lower parts costs.

Damn, I wish I HAD 10K a year to spend on this hobby.

A couple months ago when I was having problems with my marriage a good friend confronted me about my helis. "My wife would never let me spend $4k on helis." And that's in that last 6 years. But I was thinking about all the cash he has spent in the last 25 years on pot, not to mention the $2500 fine he had to pay when he was caught out of state with a pipe.

Everyone always has their own advice to give, but never listen to it themselves.

I did't actually spend that much.Well,I did, but,I also sold about $5,000 worth of stuff too so the out of pocket was only half that.

I made the mistake of keeping all my receipts and adding them up after New Years! What a mistake! I was in shock. This year I am cutting way back. I'm figuring a low spending bill for 2010 will help average out 2009's crazy budget. Only problem is that I am going to be heading to Ircha for the first time this year. I am planning on only spending on tee-shirts and food... hope I can hold out. I do have to take EMERGENCY money though...Lol!

All I have to do is look up from the laptop screen and I'm staring at easily over $10K of RC "toys". Granted not all purchased in the same year, but a pile of $ nonetheless.

On the other hand I can walk out and look at a garage full of motorcycles that make my RC spending look like pocket change. It's all relative I guess, pick your passion and go for it, fortunately my wife shares the MC addiction and doesn't mind the RC costs as long as it doesn't get out of control.

Yes, I know how lucky I am to have a wife like her

Only my opinion but, I think alot of guys keep buying the "latest and Greatest" or have to have 6 or 10 heli's Hey, whatever floats your boat I guess but for me---- one heli and spare parts, flying with some good friends on the weekend, laughing, really shouldn't cost an Arm and a Leg. Next

Best of luck w. that, itsjojo! That place is like a giant candy store
for heli-nuts. You may find many 'emergencys' while you are there.
