Hello all,

I have a Tempest w/FAI Head... I am currently working on my 5th gallon of fuel and noticed my dampeners were bad... just got done changing them out...

What else should I be looking at closely for wear and tear.... I would rather fix a 10 dollar part than wait till it breaks and have to replace 300+ in parts...

My flying is very relaxed with simple loops, rolls and inverted hover.

Were those the O-Ring dampeners or the 1 piece ones?

The one piece damps have been in my stratus for over 150 flights and are still stiff as hell, thats why I am curious.

Thanks!

1+ for the one-piece dampeners. They are much better than the O-rings.

Will these work in the XL-Pro headblock as well? I like these...

Yep, 99 percent sure of that. My older extreme head has an XL-Pro etched into it, not X-Cell. They look identical to me. Both of mine use the 1-piece dampeners.

Cheers

Whoa.

What flybar ratio are you using in that FAI head? It will not tolerate the one piece dampers if the flybar authority is set for anything much higher than 65%.

What you can use (NOT the same thing as fit) in the Tempest FAI head versus the usual Stratus/Extreme head may be two two entirely different discussions.

Definitely listen to Dr. Ben on this one, not sure if you can provide him with the info he needs or not to help you. What is your authority?
