Eagle MOT maiden flight
Hi guys,

the maiden flight is over. Eagle MOT runs without any vibrations, I'm really happy.
Unfortunetaly I forgot to grease the gears and the distance between motor pinion and 24t gear was to small, so the gear lost tooth. Next time I'll make no failures :-)

There is a video at youtube from the maiden flight. Sorry, it's just a raw version...

A lot happened here. I discovered where the moulds were and were able to lend them for a while to make a few fuses. Holger got also one and slowly we are progressing. I made two of the to wrap up my old Graupner Uni star's. The fuse was made for that mechanic. This winter will be the time to get it build and ready......

Enjoy!

Eagle MOT - update / new announcement
Hi Guys,

after a long time there will be a new update on my project 'Eagle MOT'.

This version of an Eagle is something like a stillbirth. The gear between motor pinion and maingear wasn't as stable as needed. In every case this gear has broken after a view minutes of flight. Further the chassis don't fit perfectly the Sigma fuselag.
I thought about to remove the gear between and go on using a Pyro 700, which is small enough to fit in front of the main shaft without a gear between. But as I said, the chassis don't fit the Sigma.

But new year new luck! I try an other selfmade chassis. It's also based on an Eagle III but comes only with new chassis plates and an own tail drive shaft. The battery packs are mounted in pairs left and right, so the chassis ends in height of the motor.

That will be my project of the year 2013! Maybe I build now a mechanic that is able to fly, fit the Sigma fuselag and let's fly the 1st German Sigma :-D

Holger,

WOW. What else can I say...

Did everything fit? I guess you could leave it as it it because it flies even with GFK frames. Adding a few strips would probably enough. But hey, we can cut it from carbon if you want to.

Did you testfit it in the fuselage already?

Many happy flights to you!

Hi Steven,

thank you very much :-D GfK or CfK isn't the question. But inserting the batteries is not as easy as expected :-( The mechanic fits nearly perfect in the fuselage. But the fuselage is smaller as thought. So I cut my fingers on the edge while inserting the batteries. It's not good yet...

A few more pictures can be found here :-)

You'll need something like a handle or a grip attached to the batteries to easily pick them out.

Update on Eagle Sigma ;-)
Hi @ll,

one next step is done! The swashplate cutting has been made. Thus, the position in the fuselage is fixed.

Battery slider works :-D
Hi Guys,

update on Eagle Sigma! As mentioned above the battery insertion won't work as expected. But now I have a long slider to insert the battery that works!

It will be done by inserting the battery attached to a slider plate in front of the fuselage and move the slider to the rear. I'm so happy :-D After next week I will receive the last necessary parts to complete the mechanic. Please be patient...
