Yes, Joe from HFC provides excellent service.

Has the V3 software fixed the mechanical mixing bug so it can be used on a TT Raptor?

WOW now I am impressed... Joe contacted me and let me know what can be done when the V3 software is released. I think I just found my new Online Hobby Store!

Nice flying BTW!

The update will certainly make a big difference. The nice part of the Axiom/FS600 unit is that SJGD already know how to do tail servos and the seems to be a shortcoming in some of the other units that are out at the present. I'm looking forward to trying this unit on a 90 size machine once the cables and software are released.

Here is another flight, me flying my friends Logo 500.
Basic 3d starts about half way in.

This is literally the 1st proper flight with flybarless on this heli.
Only hovered it once before this.

All factory defaults as far as gain and feed goes.
Tail was a touch waggy.
Had not done auto stabilization yet, no piro opt or tail comp.
Yes I was correcting in piro's, but not huge amounts.
You cant hear it in the vid, but it was actually very windy.

I didnt want to push too hard, being the 1st flight, plus its not my heli, and the owner was not present for permission to spank it harder lol.

Looks good Gorn, seems like sjgd has nailed it this time.
By the way, good music to the video, who is that (second clip, when you start flying)?

Not sure on who the music is from.
We 1st heard it on an Andy Rummer video from Vegas funfly in 09 I think.
So Im not sure if Duane ripped it from the heli clip, or if he found the artist who does the song.

Today our V3 gyros arrived! I will try to install it tomorrow and do a test flight this week. Gorn, have you tried the auto setup yet?

Can someone explain the v.2 swash rate value to me? The manual describes it as "like expo in the TX" but it seems to behave more like EPA. With the value of ~120 that everyone describes in their setup I'm seeing 10++ degrees of cyclic throw. I have to back this value down to 65 or so to reduce travel down to the 7 degrees I am more used to flying with. What is the right thing to do for stable sport non-3D flight with the FS-600? I'm running 10.5mm arms on an ADK FBL coversion 600>700 ESP.

Hmmm. First flight today with Version 3 on a Trex 500. Whoever said they nailed it, I could not say it better. I expected improvements, but not this. Installed, left factory defaults took off and let it just sit in a hover. Perfect. Had about 10 minutes of usable daylight so had to try everything I could real fast. So this is just my initial impression. Gorn said it all. Smooth, stable, agile, it just plain does exactly what it is suppose to. I found only one problem, and that was pitch up in FFF. When I got home I found that my feedback was set at 20, which would explain the pitch up. If that cures it tomorrow, then I suspect the FBL will be as good as their tail gyros. Will test much more tomorrow. I am exited.

Thats awesome mate!
Happy for you

ESWLFSE
You are adjusting the wrong thing to bring your cyclic value down.
Ail and Ele rate both DO work like expo, in so far as they take the edge off initial cyclic movement, just like expo.
What you need to reduce is Cyclic limit.
This adjust both ail and ele total range at the same time.
Adjust that lower to get your 7deg, fly, and adjust Ail and Ele RATE for feal that you like.

Tom
Yes I have used auto trim on both my Protos and my friends Logo 500.
Zero issues.
Enable it, hover with canopy on, try and keep it as still as possible.
You should notice that as the flight goes on, you need less corrections.
After that 1 flight, disable auto trim.
Fly again, should be pretty locked.

I have not yet tried Piro Opt or Tail pre comp.

Got my Protos rebuilt, and just had a test hover in the back yard this afternoon.
All is well.....except for my squeeling motor lol.
I suspected that the bearings were making some noise, but now I know for sure lol.
Picking up a new motor tomorrow.

Thanks Gorn. Makes perfect sense and worked exactly as you described. Not sure why I had trouble this weekend.

So rate 100 = linear? 100+ = softer feel around center?

All this raving about v3 makes me want to wait for it before I even fly my FBL for the first time.

The higher the rate %, the more twitchy it will feel around center.
Personally I run mine on my 700N and Protos at about 120.
Good trade off between response and smoothness.

Glad to help

Your problem is solved. In version 3 all mixing is done in your radio. You set up the heli in your transmitter just like you always have. The setup in SJGD then calibrates to your radio. Super easy.
