500 Heli Advice
I am not try to make you upset (Satch) but I noticed you were asking advice to help get the Best 500 size heli . I read the threads and almost all of them said get the Trex 500 or a well known name brand, you stated you ordered a GL 500. I wpmdered if you ask for help and got the answer you needed why did you get the GL 500? I see this all the time some one needs advice and gets very good advice and then goes and does something contrary to the given advice. To me I know money is always a concern with any hobby, but to not spend the money on the aircraft itself is not a good move, I just do not understand why with all the advice to get the Trex 500, why did you go with the GL500, with warnings like parts may be hard to get or it may not be as well made as the Trex 500? Don't get me wrong I hope the GL 500 flys fine and you have a great time flying it, I just did not understand why you went with the GL500. I see this lots of times, some one asks me what to get and then goes and gets something else, contrary to what I advised. I found when I was starting out I asked what to get and listened to advice and seen what other pilots are flying and this is how I made a decision. There is a new person in our club and he asks what to do, but always seems to do the opisite and I do not understand his reasoning, then he will exchange stuff and get what we told him from the start. I do understand in this hobby there are 20 ways to do something and every person has an opinion some right some wrong, so have fun on the return to flying hope you can stay with it for a long time.

Try and find out what it is, what parts are compatible with other well known brands.

A quik search revealed it could be a clone of an RCTEK 500 heli (which I have never heard of either)

Some clones will use Lepton 500, but thats a long shot.

Search the web for forums with people who have the heli, its almost certain to share basics with one of the mainstream helis, (main gear size will always be a good indicator) .

Lepton 500.

JR voyager e/Vibe 500.

Logo 400.

Protos 500.

Trex 500.

I would look at the Lepton and the JR 500`s, its possible it could share parts.

If you can get parts and it flies good, just fly it and have fun until parts get too hard to get, then move on to an Align Trex 500.

Thanks Guys, yeah i jumped the gun. by the time i heard to get a trex 500. the other one was on the way. nice helicopter though and i got it at a good price. all metal and carbon fiber. solid as a rock. i hear what your saying on the parts. banana rama has them, as it is the same bird they sell as the ninja 500. i can get the parts from the place i bought it. only that is in australia. we will see how it goes, i am sure i will move on in time anyway and go back to nitro. not positive though this thing flies pretty nice, just not long enough.

Well, why did you ask us if you are a pro pilot and know that BANANA 500 is the best 500 heli????

Almost all mates said TREX 500, I had the same issue when I was on the first step and bought Belt cp, it is a very bad heli to begin with because you need to build your heli befor you know how to fly it.

Jacoub,

Calm down, I said in my post that i use to fly nitro's a long time ago. i have been out of the hobby for twenty years. Second, i did build it as i bought it as a kit! i don't consider myself a pro pilot by any means. i admit, i jumped the gun on ordering it. that is because i was restless to get going. so i may have jumped the gun. but i don't jump to conclusions and jump on people asking advice. the electric helicopters are new to me. so i do appreciate everyones advice. i didn't buy this from Banana hobby, i almost bought from them but was told here to stay clear of them and so i did.
