gyro or radio is on reverse. Always check the heading hold function before spinning up

but how could it get reversed or out of hh mode..i was flying all night, woke up in the morning and it started kicking right and now its constant spinning counterclockwise, the servo works and everything...mktplayer..how do you check the hh mode?i have dx6i so im guessing gain over 50%?

Have the heli tail in and be in HH mode. If you turn the heli to the left the tail slider should move so the heli can turn right. You have to check to see if HH is working correctly before you spin it up.

If you can verify that then your problem is from somewhere else.

Did you check your belt? Might be worn out and missing teeth. Or too loose?

And just to clarify on how to check the gyro is running in the right direction:

Move the tail to the right, the trailing edge of the blades should also move right. Move it left the trailing edge of the blades should move left. If not, reverse the gyro sensor.

Maybe you just flicked the switch on the gyro by accident. The 401 for example has a dipswitch on the face to reverse it.

Other things you can check for is that the tail is going the right direction, and the blades aren't installed backwards. The leading edge of the blades should be moving UP on the side of the rotor when you turn the mains clockwise (assuming that's the way they turn).

I know you said you didn't change anything, but often I'm inclined to say the same after changing something I thought inconsequential or just plain forgot about it - then it turns out that was exactly what caused the problem in the first place.

If it can't hover, it ain't worth flying.

I have heard two guys say there GP750 gyro came completely undone overnight.

Reversed.
Went from digi to analog.

Pretty much rebooted in all the wrong settings.

I still like that gyro but that seemed odd that two diifferent gyros did the same thing.

What gyro do you have?

I literally never use the word literally right.

sounds exactly liek a reversed gyro maybe some power fluctuations reset your gyro? check things people have already said then report back

It would be reversed it it was mounted upside down on one heli, and upside right on the other.

In any event, you don't need to flight test it, or swap gyros or any of that to check the right direction. Just power it up, rotate the heli, and check that the trailing edge of the blades move the same direction you move the tail.

If it can't hover, it ain't worth flying.

he said it is spinning right, not left.

simply mounting the gyro upside down does not mean you need to reverse the gain. It also depends on how the tail servo is mounted.

I would be thoroughly checking out that servo and all the linkage to make sure everything is smooth and the servo is functioning correctly.

All things being equal between the two helis, taking it off one when it was mounted upside down, then putting it on the other right side up will effectively reverse the gyro.

You're right servo orientation, etc does matter. My point was just to say, just because it works properly on one heli with the settings it has doesn't guarantee it will on another.

If it can't hover, it ain't worth flying.

He said the tail kicked right and the heli is spinning counter clockwise.Read it again.lol...

I doubt the servo mounted itself wrong over night. He said it was flying fine and suddenly developed a problem.

I have an old Futaba clone gyro that reverses all the time.
I have never had a good one do it though.

I didn't mean to sound all smart ellicky earlier.
I just read it and it seems that way.Sorry

i reversed the gyro that made it worse...its weird, i hold it in my hand spool it up and as i get to about 40% throttle the servo is all workin and then i hit about 55% and its like the servo or gyro or something \does not affect the tail but yet the servo is still moving all the way back and forth when i use the rudder, its like it all works fine but then the tail just stops functioning, im not sure what that is

Weird man, I used to hate setting up the tail! Combination of different servos and gyros causing same problem something else is wrong.

While keeping the tail blades from spinning, spin the head see if the the belt skip, something might be slipping. Check the pins on both tail drive gears, inspect the belt and its tension.

I would just setup the whole tail deal from scratch, Can you try it on rate mode and see if it still make it spin?

That's an easy one then.
Belts loose or the drive gear came loose from the shaft.

It's mechanical.Start looking
