A while back, I tried flying a friend's TREX 450 and had a tail rotor problem. It kept yawing to the right and had to fight it big time. It resulted in a crash. Today, a friend of mine flying a TREX 500 was hovering about 20 ft. All of a sudden, the lost rudder control and ended up crashing. Only similarity was that they were both shaft drive. Any ideas?

No, he fixed it and said that he didn't find anything wrong. As far as I know, he hasn't had a repeat.

If you don't tighten down the tail boom with loctite those screws can come loose. The torque tube has to be pushed in all the way and use loctite to secure the boom. It doesn't take much for the boom to back out and the torque tube to disengage.

I had it happen once on my T500.
