The gov mode (11 I believe) on the Jive ROCKS!
Never got the gov to work right on the castle.. But i hear the new software is better

I wonder if the new governor function in the Vbar will work with electric ESC? I plan to try it on the nitro birds. I like the idea of feed forward as part of the control loop.

yup, castle hv45 on my logo 600 and castle ice 50 on my logo 400.
both keep the headspeed +/- 100 rpm during any maneuver, so though i heard kontronik is better, i'm happy enough.

CHEAP option...
While I love the Jive's and use them in a few machines...there is a cheap option that actually works pretty well..

it's the Hobbywing Platinum series ESC..I have a couple hundred flights on my logo 500 with the Hobbywing esc and it holds a pretty good governed headspeed...

better than the Castles I think...I could never quite get the tail on the Castle setups perfect...i'd get the occasional wag or twitch..especially when unloading the head in moves like inverted tail slides etc..

but this Hobbywing seems to work as well as a Jazz...not quite a jive...but what do you expect for cheap money

I just filmed this one this morning...as you can see..it works fine..this is a platinum 100A

hmm, i never had any tail problems with the castle, but then again i only started using them when they had done some serious updating of the firmware. Also, i'm not crack flyer, so maybe i'm not hard enough on them to notice it.

I've got a CC 110amp HV on the L600 and a CC ICE 100 on the L500 (both in governor mode - works well)
Both have failed and been repaired under warranty

If you are running a L500 on 6S I would reccomend not using governor mode (not enough head room), go for 100% flat throttle instead

That's an awefully strange recommendation.
Why wouldn't there be enough headroom ?
That's completely determined by the gearing used with the setup.

Every no governor, 100% throttle setup I've tried flies like crap compared to a properly setup governor (jive).
Usually get more flight time with the governed setup as well.

I asked because my logo 600 seems to be bogging on some manuevers.(ie.piro flips, four points tic-toc,tumbling loops, side tic-tocs)
Last funfly we had, alot of people noticed the bogging and decaying headspeed i have on my Logo600 doing them manuevers i've mentioned.

Basically i need to setup mines like everyone else on gov mode, instead of flat curved.
I thought i can get away running flat curve, but i guess not!.

Thanks everyone for all the inputs, and info you all have given.
Maybe some other pilots can benifits with this thread also, regarding running governing mode on there Logos.

Cheers,
Ray F.

I dont like gov mode myself sometimes it effects tail but this depends on flying style and ESC.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)
