Hi
Although i like the way the odin flys am not happy with it. The upgrade engine mount is so thin that am now on my third mount. Getting sick to death with it now. Has anyone else had problems with the upgrade mounts. My thoughts are they are way to thin to hold 90 size engine.

Hi
I tried the old engine mounts this weekend it caused a crash resulting in alot of damage. The odin is flybarless using v-bar. With the new mounts i got less vibs and the v-bar sensor worked great, but with the old mounts theirs more vibs which the sensor clearly doesn't like.
The tail wasn't holding very well and after a couple of flights trying to get it right the heli went full negative pitch from about 20 feet.
Am begining to think the small frame of the odin is just not up to the job of a 90 size engine. I also tried the align 3g which was acting up the same.

The new mounts work well in the case of reduced vibs but their really way to thin in places to hold a 90 size engine. You don't realise how thin it is until you see a broken mount.
I will try and up load a picture soon
(never uploaded on here before so may take some time)

On another note i had to change the upper mount insert after roughly 6 flights cos it developed slop. It now has the older version mounted in it.

Odin engine mounts
I dont have a fbl odin but i have been using the older style engine mounts for about a year now on 3 different odins with out any problems. Its true i believe the newer mounts are to thin but does stop some of the engine vibration. What engine are you running? i have flown HZ,YS SR,SZ and the novarossi in my odins the frame of the Odin is very compact so if your engine is a bit out of tune you will see it more in the frame. i can assure you that the my Odin flies with out vibs once its spooled up.

what engine?
Also what head dampners are you running?

thanks C.B.

Hi
Am running the os hz. Which seems pretty good and much better then the older os sz. The dampers came with the rjx head from what i remember they weren't to hard. One of the problems i haven't seen another odin flying for real i need to compare one to mine.

Engine alignment.
How do you do it. I was under the impression you couldn't do anything
has the top is held with the rubber ring and the bottom by the engine mounts, so the only adjustment i have is up and down?

just asking?
`About the engine because if you were running the ys there is an alignment problem because of the pump on the back of the engine. I have the align hz in my odin right now. It ran ruff and shook the heli alot until the engine broke in and the correct needle setting were found. Now it runs great no problems.

thanks C.B.

For the YS motors did you do anything to get the crank mount sit flush on the motor( due to the regulator on the YS)?

Ys engine
You need to drimmel the engine brace down some. The ys pump will stop the brace from fitting on top of the engine crankcase flush..This will cause the engine not to line up straight in the frame..

what about the rubber crank damper? Did you have to trim that to match the dremel'ed area?
