NQNA Please post your impression of the V2 grips once you've flown them. I'm curious to know what the difference really is.

Finally they notice what I pointed out, that the plastic one bends under load.

If both were available when I bought mine it would be the torque tube version all the way.

torque tube all the way. The belt system is nice, much much better then other 450's. But still to me is a pain in the ass getting the tension just right.

"Finally they notice what I pointed out, that the plastic one bends under load."

I just installed the Tarot version of this and was looking at how the stock one would flex and it is very stiff. There is far more flexing in the tail control rod. A center support guide would be much more beneficial IMO.

Well the heli is smoother for sure. It really does a number on your endpoints. For example on my Neo my pitch settings increased from 72 to 90 to get 12.5 deg and similar with getting 8 deg on cyclic. Also the TT version shocked me with being almost as queit as the belt version. Night and day difference on noise compared to the 450L. Also at first I was worried about stock blades being again 69mm blades would bring back tail issues again, but unlike the belt version its 69mm are a perfic match for TT.

You're correct Knight on the increases to pitch and cyclic on the Neo. I had similar changes. I also needed to lengthen the pitch links two turns to reach 0 degrees at mid collective stick.

I plan on flying tomorrow. I'll tell you how it goes.

Yesterday, I did have an opportunity to fly the 470 with the new blade grips. "In MHO" - Definitely smoother. High rate flips and rolls are much smoother on collective. In the wind the rotor head seems smoother. The blades seem to have less (maybe a new term) "overbite" during hard maneuvering and are more predictable in control response.

I finally have seen the metal tail rotor servo mount available at GrandRc, so I have one coming in the mail. Looking forward to seeing how this part will help with the tail.

My metal mount for the tail rotor servo is also installed. One minor problem with this installation was that the metal unit's holes do not align perfectly with the graphite frame holes. It's close enough that you can get it to work but make sure you leave the first screw loose so the second one can be worked on. The hole spacing was approximately .3 mm off.

Good to know about the blade grips. I'll pick up a pair to install during winter maintenance. Thanks for the input folks. I have the Tarot metal servo holder which works fine but I think any tail issues with flexing would be better directed toward a tail control rod guide. The plastic servo holder isn't flexing. JMHO

Happy Flying

I flew the metal tail mount today and thought it made a big difference. There was much less if not totally removed "tail bounce". It seemed to be really locked in. I bet the rod support would be a benefit also.

Bought a kit myselt
I have been following this thread for a little while, along with some others and just wanted to thank you for all the suggestions. I bought the kit over the holiday weekend and then ordered some of the upgrades a day later, glad I found out about a few of these.
if you see the pilot running....try to keep up!
