You are correct only way at the moment to get dampers is to get H47H006XXW which includes the head block. I don't think they noticed this screw up yet.

It only costs money Knight.. LOL

Laddy.. I haven't had a chance (due to weather and a very wet flying field) to fly my 470 yet. It really looks good so I'm betting it will fly just as well. Maybe some of the other guys can give you a report..

470 Cyclic Servo Wire Clearance
Building a 470LM and the AIL and PIT servo wires are very - too close to the upper bearing block.
The servo clearance is the same at the top and the bottom bearing blocks so the images show the bottom block to servo clearance for reference and the top with the bearing block loose. the images should give you and idea of the room I have and how far I need to push the top bearing block down to get things together putting a crush on the wire.

Is this the norm ?

Thanks and Happy Flying !!!

VelocityRC,

The servo wires should be fine. That is exactly the way mine looks. You wouldn't want to modify the frames to raise the top block, none of the main shaft dimensions within the frame would be correct.

Here are some quick pics that I took of mine.

OK thanks. I was thinking more on the lines of putting the blocks in the mill and shave off a mm or two deeper bevel. perhaps I'll get the LP top block and add the metal bottom block. Worry about a short over time.

Thanks.

I don't think that the wires are having any large amount of pressure applied to them. The rubber servo case wire protector should be the only thing with much if any pressure. They are also insulating the servo wire from and wear and tear in mho.

Good Luck!

My cyclic servo balls have very short threads, much shorter than my 450 Pro's came with. I noticed you have the nut on yours from the images. Did you have to mod the DS4 arm or was this not an issue with your kit ? See my image above, I have one thread exposed and fixed with CA but I might fix with epoxy if longer ball studs or a solution can't be found. Thanks.

VelocityRC,

It looks like the thread length that you have is similar to mine. You cannot really get to much threading into the nut. I always put CA on the threads before screwing them into the plastic arms and then on the exposed remaining threads before installing the nut. You get a really tight and safe fitting that I've used for many years on all of my helicopters and airplanes. I don't use loctite on any plastic parts to insure that the loctite doesn't soften the plastic arms..

NQNA,

I was, like you said able to get two threads on the cyclic ball threads and fixed the nuts with CA along with the balls into the arms. Three flights today on the maiden and I must say this is an impressive machine. Nuts still on when I got home so icing on the cake.

Here's another good addition to my Trex 470 that some of you may be interested in. I use the RCBooya canopy mounts on all my helicopters and I had to see if there was a size for the 470.

As you can see they have a very clean look and are easy to install. I've never had one of these become loose during flight unlike the stock version. Jeff Georgic at RCBOOYA.COM will definitely take care of you.

Note: Currently there isn't a listed 470L version but the 450L version is the correct size. You do need to have two spare long setscrew style post mount screws to attach these to the anti-rotation bracket.

I always liked those canopy mounts but I couldn't justify the price. I use these on my 450's and they are a perfect fit on the stock mounting bolts of the 470. A bit of CA on the threads keeps them from coming loose.

Tarot and others make these too.
