I have a brand new align trex 700N with align 91 engine.Engine shuts off two minutes after start up and won't start again it will start after it cools down. But the same thing again.I have both needles out turn and a half.Using cool power 30% heli fuel.I just built this heli and can't even fly it.And I have not installed the engine governor that came with the kit.I can really use some help on this issue.
Thanks Guys

I don't claim to be an expert on this, but when I got mine going I started both needles at about 2 turns (think this is what the manual suggested), and ran a few tanks through it there, and over about a case I slowly worked the needles to about 1.5 turns. It never gets hot, I can hold my finger on the backplate (not the head) immediately after landing. If the backplate is getting too hot to touch, then the engine is too lean and you're probably boiling fuel out of the carb preventing it from restarting. If it's not running hot, then possibly the plug or maybe a clog in the vent line so that the tank becomes a vacuum after a few minutes. I saw this happen years ago when oil from the muffler got in the line and congealed.

I had an Align DS610 on throttle that went bad during this first case, and as it was going it started to very quickly pulse to low throttle. I thought I was getting bubbles in the line, as the engine would cut instantaneously and then come back. When I flew without the canopy I could see it though. Interestingly, as the servo was failing the Spektrum remote receiver that was near the servo started to lose all packets. Once I swapped out the servo the Rx was fine again.

Hope this helps.

how hot is the engine getting?

2 possible issues here.

#1 your leaning it out to much destroying the motor until it quits running

#2 fuel starvation as described above, you better hope its #2

you should not have bubbles in your fuel line, this will also cause a lean condition.

i think I would pull the motor out and pull the head off and check out your cylinder to see if you have any damage.

thats step 1

no use going to step 2 fixing until you know for sure your motor is not damaged

T-REX 700N Align os 91 shutting off
I got the bubbles out as at an earlier stage line going from the tank to the muffler came loose that may have caused some air in it.Turned the needles 2 turns out engine strated and ran alright but don't seem to have full power. It ran good for the half a tank I had left ,so I turned it off and the engine was little warm not hot at all like before.
I do appreciate the help.

it wont have full power if its to rich

you need to read up on tuning methods so you dont cook that motor.

once its broke in you shouild lean it out until you can land and put your finger on the backplate for 8 seconds or so.

if you ran it lean you may have scored the cyclinder already and that may also be the reduced power.

you need to pull the head off

check for clog in the fuel filter if u are using one. look like the fuel is leaning off within that 2 mins as the pressure built up . it will heat up the engine and why u can start becos the engine cools down.

or leak in the fuel like or pipe interface.
