I intend to run 30% nitro in my 57. I removed the head to add the 0.1mm shim included with my kit. I have read the factory setting is 0.3mm, but I didn't find any shim inside. Is the domed insert already milled to the clearance for this .3mm, or do I need to install both shims in the engine kit for running 30% nitro? Also, I'd rather be a tad conservative and prolong the life of the engine than to get maximum performance. Reliability is most important to me. I am a sport flyer working on building my skills.

Thanks

Rob

The shim is there look again it's Alumiumn .. It on the alum. dome and will come off. use fingernail or sharp blade (carefully) . I'm running total of .05 shims 1 @.02 and the alum..03 with RR 30% and OS 8 plug.. at sea level.. going to .04 just makes it hard to tune idle.. motor has unblogable tune when tuned in..

Thanks Gernejr. I guess I have no choice but to remove the engine again from the frame and verify the aluminum shim, and add back the .2mm shim in place of the .1mm shim. Hopfully, last time I remove it before maiden. The Fury 55 does make it pretty easy, though.
