Im debating between the two. Regardless Im going to use a 9257 tail servo on my 450. Is there any real performance difference?

I had the opportunity to use a Quark on my 600 ESP, and found it to be easy to set up and use, and solid. I can't compare to the 760, but I thought this might be a useful data point.

You could get the Blue-Link, but the software isn't available yet for the Quark. I have the Quark on my 700 and it flys great right out of the box.

The quark is great. I have 3 on 450 and 600 size birds.
I hope they come out with a link for it soon. I am using negative expo in my radio to speed up the center and would prefer to adjust it in the gyro. Their website has said the link is coming soon for a while.

Quark programming?
Hi,

I fly a Trex 450. Till now was using HK 401b , a clone gyro on it. However in strong wind it didnt held the tail well. Moreover , the fact that you are using a clone gyro was on back of my mind.

I just want to ask the seniors here if a newbee like me can program a quark easily??

Hobby king sells one for 139$

Also, the blue link interface module or Flash link USB interface should be used for quark programming??

WHATS UP DOC? (always wanted to say that) lol
very easy sir, I , own 3 Spartan s ( 2-reg Spartans , and 1- quark ) I own 2 -trex700 and 1 velocity. I do not own the link, never had to go beyond the basic set up. yes sir ,they are very easy to use and rock solid
for the 450 trex, the quark is PERFECT ,size wise ,and performance.
I just bought a 450 pro and it has the 780 align and i am still working with the tail, may grab a fourth, soon

thanks

I have two Quarks, and neither one has a USB port. So, it 'appears' that the Blu-Link is the one that will be used to get to the advanced programming menu.

As good as mine work, I see no need (at this time) for that ability.

you can use the usb cable and blue link with the quark.

you must buy the SLX adapter for the quark which is due out very very soon.

raptorheli2,

Are you saying that the Quark will interface through one of the plugs already attached to the Quark?

I can't add much to the verbal argument as I just bought a Quark, but have not flown it yet. I damaged a DS760 in a crash recently and just got it back from England, so while neither is installed, I thought I'd post a few size comparison pics.

Weight differential (with neither metal plate nor tape):
DS760: 17g
Quark: 8g

Are you saying that the Quark will interface through one of the plugs already attached to the Quark?
The quark will interface through one of it's plugs (gain?), but will require the Flash-Link and an adapter for the two.

just get a DS760, its an amazing gyro that will perform. A side from the size most of us won't feel a difference in performance between the 760 and Quark.
