What brand of flybarless system suitable for scale, for example, 50 size airwolf with trex 600 ESP mechanics and also I plan to use stand alone gyro from futaba GY401? Thanks in advance.

Just don't use a stand alone gyro with a 3 axis flybarless system.

airwolf (bell 222) even in scale, is a 2-bladed aircraft. so, the fact that your project is scale has no bearing on which system to go with since most rc helicraft are 2-bladed aircraft. if you were planning on doing a scale 3+ rotor model you might have another discussion.

in other words, nearly any flybarless system available will work for your needs.

since you are planning on using a 401 on tail (why though?) then most 2-axis systems would be cheaper for you. consider the skookum 360.

if you decide to go for a 3-axis system (using the built-in tail gyro instead of a separate one) then the align 3g, and vbar are options--you just need to decide on what features you need for each price point. also, skookum 720 & total-g are on the verge of being availble mainstream. you just need to decide whether you want to be a guinea pig with a scale project for the newer systems....or have the time to wait for the general public to ferret out all the bugs/kinks. (that could still be said for the align 3G, too...still too many posts with people having issues for me)

if it ain't broke, break it.

Since I bought the gyro already, I'm leaning towards the Skookum 360.
Thanks guys!

Notes
Just set up my first Skookum and first time with a giant four bladed head.I really like it and its amazing what it can do. I did make lots of notes and got some great advice from someone who has set up many of these. Also Jody at Heli Direct gave good advice. If when im finished with my private notes you want a copy if you buy theSkookum let me know. I wrote down steps in plain english and easy to understand unlike the directions and also they dont give any multi blade setup directions. But i compiled a good set of notes and step by step to guide myself. I always make notes on new products to help me understand better and to make it easy next time for setup. Also I used this system because I have 16 401 gyros and have never had a problem with one and felt I wanted to leave the tail the way that it is and not experiment with a diffrent system for the tail.

I used a SK360 for the same purpose you describe. Works great.

If this is a 2 bladed setup and you havent gotten the flybarless head yet I'd look into the 3G. You would get the head and the electronics for about the same price as the sk 360 without the head. You can hang on to the 401 for your next project or sell it.

ea01bg,
The 600 size 3G with head is $410. The SK360 is $280. That leaves you $130. Hardly the same price.

Raptorz499,
Thanks !

Shop around some more. I cant find the link where I got mine but I got it for 350 + shipping.
Still cant find the link where I got mine. It may have been an introduction price. Every where else is about the price you said.

So where are you getting the head and blades for 130?

All I was saying was that they are NOT the same price. Just telling it like it is for Hoverpitch.
So where are you getting the head and blades for 130?
So now you are throwing main blades into the mix as well ? If you got a 3G, 600 rotor head, and decent main blades for $350 ??? well then, of course, I'd get the head and blades for $130 from the same place you shop !

Yup! Perfect.

Now that's some good info Hoverpitch can use should he decide to.

I will be the first to admit I may have been a bit of a smart-a in this case........ sorry.

I'll also admit I was wrong. From the source you quoted, your original statement is correct regarding the price of a 3G+head vs an SK360. I apologize.

Peace ?

I'm asking the same type questions guys.. I had a SK360 with a very bad experience so I'm not interested in that FBL system.. I have a scale heli with a Raptor 50 w/elect conversion... What 2 axis system would you recommend? The 600/3g? Does the head fit a 10mm main shaft?
Does it handle mechanical CCPM?

Thanks all..

Grant

Best performance on all kind of helis, from 3D to especially big scale machines.

Cheers,
Joachim
