I just got back from the field. It flew AWSOME!! Blades tracked perfectly, tail was very easy to tune, prtty much no trim needed. Scared the living $*%# out of me!! This was my first nitro, and first heli bigger then a 450. It was very very stable, but yet very fast at the same time. Power I cant say yet, as no governor and Throttle was 60% flat, but it was enough. Im running 10/10 pitch. Im working on a vid! Setup is in my profile! Im running the pinion and gear very tight, and a mixture of UK rocket links and Raptor ones. Stock flybar cage thing. Im so pumped right now!!!!

Thanks for all the help

Throttle curves for IC engine powered helis are nothing like throttle curves for electrics ! A 60% flat throttle curve on an IC powered model is going to give you massive headspeed changes with collective changes . It's where the term 'V' curve came from .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Yep, I plan on getting in 2 more flights tonight! So are V curves better to run with no gov?

airsoft

start out with a throttle curve of about 65h-50m-65l for idle1 and see how it feels. if your not running a gov yet, you dont want to run a flat throttle curve. youll drop hs when you load the head and overspeed when no load is there, so use a "V" curve. this way at mid stick, the throttle is lower then at high and low.
