Notice that you have the SAB55 pipe with the OS55 engine. How does this combo do?

You want my honest opinion?

LIKE ASS

Seriously.

I hate to say it like this, but I was about to post a sarcastic, "DOWNGRADE to OS 50 on SDX Completed!" thread. I just pulled the 55 and pipe and re-installed the 50 and SAB-50 BWSpecial combo (haven't re-flown yet). I think I just couldn't get the thing to run right. I'll try the 55 again in an N5 after a bearing change, but 30+ flights and it felt right for about 10 of them.

Just my experience, and I hope to improve upon it....

Have any of you guys tried the YS-56SR in the SDX?

Ever seen this video, it came out when the SR wasn't on the shelves yet, but it looks good none the less.

Sounds Like mine
Rick knows my 55 has only briefly shown any signs of life. had a positive feel when I installed a Funntech 320. but was short lived. Going to try a new rear main bearing, and see how it goes

YS56SR First Impression
I break in my YS56SR at 4th tank in my SDX. My hovering needle is now at 2.5 turns with both the low and high end needles richened by about 1/8 turn. The base plate temperature is at around 155 degree. I flip to idle up mode breaking in and all I can say is WOW, this engine is a beast. It has already got tons of power as if it is unlimited (Note: I am still at 2.5 turns withing going lean yet!!). I like this engine very much!

Wiz... what skid set are you using?? Like the chrome pipes. Yeah, it looks like your boom is red. Is that the case??

Hey guy's , I use the Freya low profile landing gear, as far as the tubes, well a little elbow grease was applied there! I polished them to a chrome finish, after I got all the anodizing off, what a pain in the , you know what!!! But they look awesome! I would like to know where to get those GRILLZ! I would like to put some on my Phantom canopy!

Almost forgot! the boom was also polished to a chrome like finish! Then I applied red transparent monokote over it! It looks like red chrome! Real sweet out in the sun, and can see it very well I might add!

"Grillz" was just my corny word for them. In reality, all the coverings are are window screen material epoxied to the inside of the canopy. I had some leftover material and thought it would clean up the canopy a bit. The stuff I used is plastic, pet-resistant stuff that is lighter than metal mesh and slightly stretchy. On the right, I also epoxied a metal grommet for the hole that my pin flag is inserted into.

Try it yourself, it looks nice!

Here's my new GRILLZ!! Mine are made from thin perforated alum. sheet, they can be removed to be buffed or painted, but I left mine natural alum. color for now. I may end up taking them out to buff them to a chrome like finish, you know how I like the shiny bling look!
