this question is for you guys using any type of bullet connector.Up until now DEANS have been in all my helis.I am going to go with some type of bullet for the new 50 elec. But I see some of you guys are using bullets that are NOT enclosed in any type of case or plastic.Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but How do you guys keep the connectors from touching each other and shorting?

is each one in its own case?do you make the battery leads different lengths?

any pics of your bullet connectors on batt and esc would be really appreciated

I use these, they work real good and easy to solder them.

Other good thing about these connector you can do series without making up additional adapter.

Break up the ones on ESC end so they're separated.

join the battery leads together in series. than plug the ESC leads to other two open leads on batteries.

You cover the female bullets with shrink tubing. Cut the tubing about 1/4 inch longer than the end of the bullet. When you heat it, you only shrink the part that is covering the bullet leaving the extra 1/4 inch unshrunk.

The male bullet is also covered with shrink tube all the way up to the bullet. When the bullet is inserted into the female side, there is nothing is exposed.

If I was going to use bullets, I think I'd used the EC5s. But I've been having issues with soldered connections fraying. Usaully on the wires to the BEC. So I moved to a crimped connection.

awesome.great stuff.didn't think about shrink tubing.thats why i always come to my e-sky buddies first, you get the straight scoop fast

edit,so you put a male and female on the batt and a male and female on the esc ,correct?or still do both female on the battery?

thats a good point, very handy since the 6HV will be running 2 6s batts in series, very cool

eliminating the series adaptor is less wiring, less resistance, less weight(if only a little)and just less crap to worry about/go wrong.another plus for bullets

Yes, you put a male and female on both the battery and ESC. That is how the lipos and ESC are setup on my EXI 500. I use this lipo. As you can see, the bullet connectors come pre-installed...one male and one female connector, which also come protected with a plastic type of shield. Then, I just soldered one male and one female connector to my ESC.
