I bought a YS 91 Double plug head like viper but from a guy in Helifreak.
It's ok but I find it impossible to start the engine with SwithGlo-Pro
unless I use a plug pipe also for the second plug.
When it starts it runs smooth.
Do you have any suggestions before deciding to give it back

Did you shim the head?Im running a viperhead and it likes 2 thick .008 shims which is .016 ..I tryed one .004 shim and she was hard to start then I tryed one .008 shim.It was kinda hard to start with the .008 shim so I added another .008 shim and all is good ..This is on my OS 91 but its pretty much the same as the YS because I have the cline carb with reg..

Where can I find shims for YS because I haven't hear about it.
On the other hand this matter is known for OS when you change the heads
the gold one or the black

Is your YS a SR or ST? I would be very suspect of the head unless it's the Viper head made specifically for the YS 91ST, there was never a Viper dual head made for the SR. Is this head a homemade head or was it put into production? I would go back to the single plug head and trouble shoot from there. Also a side note, the Viper dual plug head didn't really do a whole lot for the YS91ST. The Viper heads really helped the OS 91 SZ's and older model engines with vibration issues and a slight increase in power.

And yes the shimming can be an issue but there are many that don't reshim the YS engines. They run very good out of the box.

To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

It does look to be nice quality. I would still question what type of testing has been done with this head. If it's been tested maybe the builder/designer of the head can give you recommended shimming for the type of fuel, muffler and plug combination's.

I just bought one of his first run heads for my align 91h and im running a thick and thin shimcombined.

engine runs so great and it smoothed out the 91h that already runs good.

I would say OP's issue is tuning with the new head, posible shim issue and maybe a different temp glow plug.

in mine im running a OS #8 in primary and a enya #3 in the secondary slot.

all i can say is if the head has the same size combustion chamber and just a added glowplug I would think the problem is not with the head.

that and are there not allot of satisfied customers that have perfect running engines in that thread??

That head has exactly the same compression and combustion chamber profile - it just has two plugs - and it runs very nicely indeed

I would say your plugs are either too cold or you are too rich (the YS will burble away happily even when rich)

I have the same head on my YS91SR. It runs great, but it is difficult to start when you have the hotter plug busted.

Also I noted that with this head the first start of the day is more difficult and I have to increase the idle a bit. Once the second plug is lit it idles incredible great.

I use a OS#8 in the mid hole and a Enya #3 on the angled hole. You can lit the hotter plug to start the engine.

Yes the problem was in SwitchGlo-Pro because the ground was far away from the engine's main body so it didn't light up although it was buzzing
and as a result the engine was flooding
That was my clue yesterday and the engine worked fine with the stock head.
I will let you all know the result with Misael's head.

P.S: Always check the SwitchGlo for red plug because in my case it was buzzing but not burning the plug.

I'm glad you find the what was problem,I try to make those heads the best as I can in finish and perform,I use them in my helis and I'm always testing differt things on it to make shure you get a great product.

The engine worked also with Misael's head.
And while the engine with stock (red)head was idling 10% with Misael's head was idling 5% .
One question more if you use two OS #8 plugs is it going to be a problem?Because the numbers above came up with two #8.
