People on here sure do feel the need to measure d*cks against others when it comes to FBL units. If you don't like the Align unit thats fine but why the need to constantly say my Vbar will always be better than your FBL unit. I don't know the history behind the Vbar but I'm sure it was not perfect right out of the box. My Align unit isn't either and I've never claimed it to be but I'm certainly not going to go bash another brand because of it. Yes we all paid a good amount of money but we also made that choice on a very brand new unit. Look at some of the JR9505 radios. How long has JR been doing this and theres a recall on some units right away. I happen to think the Align FBL works ok not perfect but I haven't had an issue thats kept me out of the air from the day it was released. I'm running it on 6 heli's and have 3 other friends running it. Things will get corrected in time. How about a little tactfulness when it comes to other brands and peoples choices. My Friday rant.

Nature of human kind?

I spent time on some forums about Wood Boilers the other day, same story, different products...

If two products co-exists doing the same thing, the discussion is the same everywhere.

Flybarless
No mystery here...but I am a big supporter of flybarless...no matter what system you use..

But I think it's to be expected that we bash different products...that's just the way it is..

I tried the Align and it burned up 3 cyclic servos before ever leaving the ground...

While I don't fly the Align...I applaud those who are running them...

You are brave people...

I think most people would agree that when you're spending $2000+ on a heli ....spending an extra 100-200$ for a better flybarless system is a better investment..

But hey...having a choice is wonderful...

I would not bash anyone for their choice of FBL unit.

I just know if it says Align anywhere on it - Im not risking any of my machines by using it.

There are many many people who use align electronics any get hundreds of good flights, then there are those who only make it far enough of the ground to watch it fall back down.

Align deffinately has the skills in engineering & design to produce great products, but thier constant fight to mass produce & undercut prices mean your going to have quality control issues, and occasional failures.

I can accept some failures from airframe parts, but I cannot accept failures from electronics

I feel like telling JR to stop outsourcing to Taiwan and China.

What's wrong with Taiwan and China? Their technology is good enough to produce the best electronics in the world. The problem is that their clients just trying to cut the cost as much as possible.

I am still researching a FBL system and am scrolling through threads. I have align trex 600ESP and wanted to stay with align stuff so really looked hard at the system. Seems reasonably priced and specs look ok. The problem is as I'm researching these threads I'm coming across people who seem to have had more align FBL problems than some of the other brands. It has almost taken align out of contension for my $ regarding buying a FBL. I'll look at the threads following the firmware update, but if I don't see a whole bunch of happy campers, I just can't afford to risk my favorite heli to a system with a bad track record. I see your point though, there are more tactful ways of saying things.

How right you are. We consumers beg for it and they let it happen. And a bunch of middlemen rake it in.

So, the answer to the thread title...because it's fun.

Why do people feel the need to bash on others choices of FBL systems
I like to try different systems and I have tried a few. I am not afraid to post if something is wrong with one or if I prefer one over the other. I also hate it when people lie about trying and flying "all the systems and combinations" out there when that simply is not possible...few have the means to do so and those who do, chose not to . I also will point out obvious flaws and faults like unyeilding tail wags, failures and such.
When people are not objective about heli related products, it tends to make me shy away from that one product. Like when people say "I bought system "A" and sold all of my system "B" ones" and then a few weeks later they have them for sale in the classifieds.
I like it when people are fair........Ron

My T-Rex 600 ESP 3G FBL is flying very well. Even the Vbar guys at the field agree that mine has no problems. T-Rex 600 ESP 6S 5000mAh 30C / 3x DS610 / DS650 / Neu 1515 2.5D / CC110HV / Align 600D Blades / Standard mounting tape on the sensor / CC BEC Pro at 6V / shorter cable between sensor and unit / 45% Gain on aileron and 40% on elevator.

However, my 450 Pro 3G FBL needs the update. It is flyable but it's loosing the tail in hard 3D maneuvers.

I agree that a "one size fits all" flybarless system may not exist that's why I suspect that I will have to go for the Vbar mini on the 450Pro even after the update.

The Align system was tested on the T-Rex 600 and 700 with Align 610/620/650 servos. I think that if you stick to that configuration it will work well otherwise go for other systems.

Felipe.

Most bash others because they want to feel that the one they purchased is the best and that they made the right decision.

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....

same goes for those that also will defend their purchase to feel right even if they know it is in fact not what they expected etc clive.....it's a two way street sometimes the air is clear enough to know which side is defending or attacking.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
